Went for dinner on a Tuesday evening in November.
The food was excellent. I had the duck and my friend, the battered haddock. Both were around £17. We followed it with an amazing sticky toffee pudding each (£5.50) and goooood coffee. They serve an excellent British cheese board of cheddars, goats and stilton, but we were too full to go that far!
The service was top notch from most quarters. Considering the location they were probably used to frosty receptions from the patrons. That's an understandable habit to pick up. Once they recognised we were normal folk they were very warm and welcoming.
The bar staff were attentive and had a good selection beers. Not being an ale fan, I didn't check to see the range, sorry. The ambience was pleasant, with good gastropub furniture and decor but the lighting was a bit halogen-fuelled in places. Could be easier on the eyes after a day staring at a screen.
The toilets were in a very good condition with strong hand driers.
Overall, a very positive experience.
The Mitre is a large pub on the corner of Holland Park Avenue and Ladbroke Grove, serving an extensive menu of food and a wide selection of drinks. There are several tables at the front of the pub where customers can sit outside.
