This pub was a great find for me and has become a bit of a local whenever I'm in the area. It offers a welcome middle ground between the more traditional and glitzy establishments on the Isle of Dogs/Docklands.
Relaxed vibe with friendly/attentive bar staff.
The range of beers and ciders are impressive and the food menu/service is pretty good.
Particularly lively in the summer months with punters spilling out onto the dockside terrace but a great place for a leisurely lunch or drinks with friends any time of the year.
Visibly improved over last year under enthusiastic new manager. Good

I'm not sure I've felt as comfy or welcomed in a pub as this one. Pepper is a great find hidden away on the Island. The worn arm chairs and candle light create a charming atmosphere before you've even ordered a drink. The food is seasonal and reasonably priced. For all Potter fans... if you imagine the Grythindor common room (with copious amounts of alcohol) then you're about spot on.
The red head behind the bar isn't bad looking either.

Although it looks a bit shabby, the food is great especially the pulled pork!!

We asked for a bottle of dry white wine. It was sweet. Please train your staff on the basics, as in what constitutes 'dry' when making a sale.

Congratulations for selling me the worst burger I've ever tasted at £8.50.

The two points out of 10 go to Emily, a true professional and a credit to you.
