The Antelope

We visited the Antelope on the very first day it opened and we've been regulars ever since. We've always found it a very welcoming place thanks to the warm, friendly decor and the warm, friendly staff.

There's a wide selection of beers and ales, a decent wine list and the ever tempting smell of home made sausage rolls at the bar. Children and even dogs also add to the friendly atmosphere, particularly over weekends

Food in the large restaurant is generally excellent with an ever changing menu and the price, which was getting a bit top heavy seems to be just about right now. Get here early if you want a Sunday roast however as the best stuff (including roast potatoes on one occasion past 3pm) tend to run out.

There's always a nice mix of locals and visitors - generally 20/30 somethings, and as a starter or alternative to the more full on, Tram just down the road (same owners) it's a great option.
