All In London Review

A Camden bar with DJs, plus really good food

Review Image
The venues along Inverness Street are constantly changing. This is where there's a little touristy market just off Chalk Farm Road. All have a similar layout - narrow with a bar at the front, dining space and a DJ booth/mini-stage at the back, catering to Camden's boozy gig-goers and with varying degrees of food quality. Boho used to be Bar Vinyl, a DJ bar with 2 for 1 cocktails that always seemed to be very popular.

The decor is loud and colourful. The music is booming, a mish-mash of Jive Bunny-style covers of songs like Papa Was A Rolling Stone.

The dishes are British comfort food. Quail's egg scotch egg has chunky, nicely seasoned pork and comes with a very generous dollop of 'whisky' mayonnaise - we can't taste the spirit but nevertheless it's very good. Buck rarebit is a twist on the classic with an egg, melted cheese and wild garlic pesto on a thick slice of toasted sourdough. Both of these are available as bar snacks but we get them as starters.

Main dishes include burgers, fish and chips and sirloin steak, although notably there are a few interesting veggie dishes like salt baked beetroot with goat's curd. We get the pulled beef brisket burger with a 'beer mustard remoulade' and BBQ mustard, which comes in a brioche bun. It's creamy and delicious, and comes with chips. A big plate of chicken Caesar salad is very good, with large pieces of tender chicken breast, liberal slices of Parmesan and bacon, an egg and croutons. We like that there's very little lettuce by comparison to the other ingredients, although the advertised anchovies are missing.

There's a big selection of drinks, including champagne, absinthe and martinis, but we stick to Staropramen and Corona.

Its purpose is largely as a bar - they have DJs including Nicky Holloway playing regularly till 2am at weekends - however the food is highly recommended.

All In London were invited to Boho, however the staff weren't aware of this until the end of the meal.
