The Old Dispensary has been given a new lease of life with it's recent makeover as part of its modern guise as a pub and dining Room; recently winning CAMRA’s East London Pub of the Year accolade comes as a final seal of approval, but only confirms what many a happy guest could have told you already; this is a real pub serving real ale and beer and proper food.
It's origins were rather less comforting; notoriously the main person suspected of being 'Jack the Ripper', Queen Victoria’s surgeon, Sir John Williams, practiced medicine in this very building. However, with his ghost firmly laid to rest in the history books, the modern day dispensary is a friendly, high-quality and award-winning pub where locals and visitors alike feel welcomed and at home.
The Old Dispensary now also has a beautiful chef’s table which seats up to seven diners, or alternatively there i also the Wellington Room available bringing a luxurious dining space for parties of up to forty, or sixty for a drinks reception.
