Me and spouse visited a Saturday about 6:30 pm. We sat downstairs, in the little yard. It is not very cosy outside, so we went in after dinner, classic English pub style. Our waiter was very nice and charming. I had an Indian chicken dish, nothing special about it, but good. Spouse had roast of the day, very traditional which was what he wanted and he really liked it. Dessert - toffee and date pudding, was rich and delicious, and well made coffee.
Prices were ok. The place is maybe not very exciting for a young couple like us and we had to wait quite some time for our meals, but friendly atmosphere, food is priceworthy, place is tidy and not crowded.

Visited this pub with my boyfriend on Friday evening. The upstairs bar was fairly quiet around 5.30pm. The service from the Eastern european barman was terrible. I asked him for a glass of dry rose wine and he suggested Gallo Zinfandel which is medium sweet. When I replied I thought it was a bit on the sweet side he replied that he didn't know as he didn't drink wine. My next move was to locate the wine list and asked for another rose but was told they didn't have this one 'Upstairs'?! I gave up at this point and ordered a glass of white wine. When he moved down the bar to serve another customer after I had paid for my round of drinks I noticed that a full bottle of the rose wine I'd requested from the winelist was right at the front of the fridge in clear view.
When we took our seats by the window there was a trio of very very drunk men. One of them was shouting and swearing at the top of his voice and being pretty threatening. A pair of American tourists sat at a neighbouring table looking either bemused or just scared. This drunk man was ranting and raving for all the time we were in the pub which was at least half an hour. At no point did the barman speak to him or call for assistance. In my opinion he was creating a very uncomfortable atmosphere which nobody wants to be in. As we were leaving, the drunk man was back at the bar buying more beer for himself. I dread to think how much worse he got.
A very badly run pub, best avoided.
