the staff seem oppressed by management - always looking over their shoulders and do not put the customer first. awful pub.

We feel really lucky to live near the Hare and Hounds, but if you don't, it is well worth the trip!
Very friendly pub and the food is outstanding.
We have eaten there many times, including lovely sunday roasts (often TWO vegetarian options!). Went for a curry there last night and it was delicious - the best yet! It is all cooked with such care and expertise. Name me another pub where you can get an amazing Chana Chaat.
Food aside, it's just a great pub to have a drink - there's a nice garden and a couple of pool tables too.
Very highly recommended!

I have eaten at the Hare and Hounds several times over the past few years where the food has always been good and tasty. Today I went with my family for Sunday lunch and ate the roast pork with jerk and mustard with vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings. Served with it's own gravy jug and with fresh apple sauce, I couldn't fault the cooking or flavour. Will definitely be back, especially for Sunday lunch.

Went in and ordered the belly pork and was told it would be an hour so opted for a burger instead which sadly took an hour to arrive so could've had a roast after all.
The burger was awful it was tough and dry and after one bite I'd had enough.
As compensation I was offered a free drink which I didn't feel was good enough so politely refused.
The staff were friendly and the pub was nice and overall a shame as I don't think I would risk ordering food there again as I have three kids so it's a rare treat to eat out.
Overall I was very disappointed with the whole experience.
Sad times.

Lisa, Sandy and Abby had a really lovely meal here today.
Scampi and chips with salad, steak and chips with mushrooms and tomotatoes, plus cheese on toast.
Couldn't fault anything, delicious.
Spoke to Landlady and chef Rita who explained 90% of meals are home made and it showed.
The quality of the food was amazing value service, quick and very friendly.
We will be returning very soon a real find.

I love this pub!!It is one of the few traditional, unpretentious local boozers left in the area.
The home-cooked food is exceptional and very reasonably prices, proper comfort food. And the staff are all so lovely and welcoming.
The pub itself is huge and has an amazing beer garden for the summer months.
It is definitely worth a visit!

it has a comfortable, familiar feel, good food, a couple of pool tables and shows all sporting events, it is suitable for couples, friends or family. the only negative things we can say is that the drinks aare a bit pricey and it is quite dark inside. it has a nice garden area.
Have your say
