Motown Soul Bar

A bit on the small side but brilliant for dancing the night away with your friends. The decor is great with a multitude of record sleeves covering at least one wall blending effortlessly with the motown theme Drinks are very reasonable, staff are friendly and security is low key but effective and very rarely neccessary. Bus stops and taxi staions nearby but bar staff will call a cab for you if you ask nicely. Music is a mix of mainly Motown, RnB, Soul, with a bit of hip-hop, dancehall, lovers rock, reggae thrown in. It doesn't matter if you are black, white, old, young, a dancer, a drinker, male, female, single or not... you WILL fit in and have a great time as long as you have a smile on your face and don't come with attitude. Dress code is smart/casual to sexy/glamour. No trainers! Men; you will be searched so leave it at home if you don't want it confiscated. I've been going Motown for years as have a lot of my friends and family and I highly reccomend it. If you want somewhere fun, reasonably priced, safe, local, friendly, comfortable with wickend old and new tunes; Motown is your place!
PS. It's even frequented occasionally by famous people as the photos on the walls there will show. I met Alexander O'Neil down there last summer. Anyone remember him?
