The Rising Sun is a pub full of quite young drinkers. They serve pub food plus dishes for vegetarians and have a TV and juke box. Outside seating is provided on the pavement.

Two weeks ago I was waiting at the bus stop going north on Tottenham Court Road, which is right by the Rising Sun pub. After waiting for the bus for over 45 mins, I was in urgent need for some toilet facilities. This was well past the pubs closing hour. I saw there was still some staff at the Rising Sun and thought they could let me use their toilet. After knocking on the door and politely asking if I would be able to use their bathroom, I was greeted by 'F**k off you c**t' from what I presume was the manager of the pub, whom I have seen before, as I occasionally go there after work with my work mates. I tried to explain the urgency situation through the closed pub door (we have all been there) and was then complemented with more violent and brutish behaviour from this man. Anyway, its safe to say that I or anyone else in my office (all 78 of us) will no longer be spending our well earned money at this dreadfully run pub. There are many more polite establishments around the area. Thank you Mr. Rising Sun for being a rude idiot and loosing loads of customers. Well done.

Dreadful pub! Poor decor and atmosphere. Went with a group of friends and I tried the Spitfire. It was undrinkable, my friend who got the round in and went to take it back to the barmaid, she asked the landlord, he said it was not off and that was the end of that and so instead of giving a new pint or an alternative my friend had to pay again for a pint of pride. I took this up with the landlord who was very unhelpful and showed no customer service at all, he just mentioned he had won awards for his beer (which looking at the reviews below, you wonder how!) He then tried to blame the barmaid for not telling him the full story. At no point did he apologise or try to resolve the issue. This is the first time in over 20 years of drinking that a pub has refused to deal in some with a 'dodgy' pint. Needless to say he lost any more custom from our group and we went on to far finer establishments then this.

Insulted? I suspect you probably will be. I had the misfortune to be accused of lying by the acerbic landlady of this establishment. I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't a local pub that I regularly frequent on a friday night after work. It's a pretty buzzing pub on a friday full of a mix of work locals and tourists but I shall never be frequenting it again having been seriously insulted. The evil harridan landlady needs a serious lesson in manners if she wants to keep her customers, I and those around me were shocked by her attitude.
