Eleven years after the Charles I had been beheaded by Oliver Cromwell's Parliamentarians, The Old Red Lion exhibited the exhumed bodies of Cromwell, Henry Ireton and John Bradshaw for a nights showing. Today, The Old Red Lion is a pub that serves a variety of beers, wines, spirits as well as a selection of English dishes throughout the day. Catering for private parties of up to 35 guests is available upon request.

Extremely rude staff. I usually wouldn't be bothered enough to write a review but one goes to a pub to relax and enjoy their evening and it is next to impossible to do this here due to the extremely rude and snobby staff. A word of warning- do NOT get the wine. Should have known better I guess, but when I complained, the bar waitress said that was just the way it was, so I purchased another beer instead. Should have left. Avoid this place unless you like being put down, enjoy poor wine, or like snobby folks behind the bar.

New management or owners have this pub. It used to be nasty; now it's clean wth good friendly service. I reccomend it to all!
