This pub is one of my favourites and is probably the best in South London; a definite contender for one of the best in London. It's located across from Streatham Common and adjacent to the Waterfront (which does a good range in pizza specials itself). It's also not too far from The Hideaway, which covers weekly music events.
It has a massive beer garden, with some beautiful oil paintings. If anything it's a bit too big. However it's got a great atmosphere for sports events like the World Cup matches, when it was packed out.
Several families with pushchairs came in while I was last there and waltzed straight through to the garden. The staff brought out high chairs and handed out free balloons and ice lollies, which I thought was a nice touch. It's also got wheelchair access and disabled toilets.
Toilets are very clean (in fact the whole place is), plus it's a Friday and Saturday nightclub, great food, staff prompt, friendly and approachable. A nice classy cosmopolitan vibe. A pub which goes out of its way to make every one feel welcome. And best of all, no leery drunken types staggering around.
If you're looking for somewhere to have a drink with friends and family in a classy trouble free setting, I'd definitely recommend The Greyhound in Streatham.
