The Queen's Head is a recently refurbished pub open daily and serving sustainable British food and locally brewed beers. A short walk from both Brixton and Stockwell the pub has a sunny beer garden and great tunes, with DJs on a Saturday night. You can reserve tables for lunch, dinner and for group bookings and parties, with catering options also available. The daily menu has sustainably sourced fish and chips, organic burgers and seasonal vegetarian options, and on the weekend the restaurant is the perfect spot for a relaxing Sunday lunch with the papers. It's a great pre- or post-gig pub for nights at Brixton Academy, plus there's a pub quiz every Wednesday night with cash prizes, wine and your chance to win the Queen's Head quiz trophy!

This pub is dirty, including the beer lines. Several friends have got sick because of the beer. There are not enough bar staff when it's busy and they are usually so drunk it takes ages to get served. The manager is always drunk and very rude. The toilets aren't well maintained, in fact the whole place is poorly kept. Not recommended at all.

This pub is 10 minutes from my house, and over the years I have seen it change hands quite a few times. Finally, it looks as though the set up is right for success. There is a good choice of well kept beers/wine, and the friendly staff are quite knowledgeable. Also, music played at a sensible volume.

A really good pub! Been here a few times recently since the new management took over (Nov 2010). It's got everything a pub should have really - good range of wine, proper beer and cider, food, an outside area, seating at the bar, quiet corners, open fires, sofas, a TV for football etc. There's a small DJ box/band space in the corner and I think they have music sometimes as well. We went in one evening before we went to Brixton Academy (which is down the road, about 2-3 mins) and it was friendly and lively, but not at all packed. Probably one of the better pubs to go to if you're going to the Academy actually.
