Food Served

On the 25th 2013 September Greenwich's original Victorian wine cellar opened in its latest guise - 'The Cooperage' - a subterranean cocktail bar set under the high road, ready to keep patrons happy deep into the night.

With friendly, talented mixologists on hand there is a lovingly created drinks list. It consists of a small but expertly made selection - highlights including home infused spirits in old oak barrels kept in the back of the bar.

The Cooperage is situated between the British Rail and DLR stations underneath Davy's Wine Vaults on Greenwich High Road.

My company has been using Davy bars to hold functions for quite some time, when our offices moved to London Bridge we continued the tradition at the Cooperage, while it's a Davy bar in name and appearances the service and food that we receive here weekly certainly beats the others hands down.

Yes it gets busy and is standing room only on a Thursday and Friday night but it's worth it. The staff are friendly and fast and even they seem to be having a good time, isn't it strange to have a barman remember your order in central London?

The food is traditional pub grub but is all homemade, I would definitely recommend the burgers and the chips are to die for.

The only downside is the lack of music, but at least you won't have cheesy-pop blaring in your ears all evening.

Poor service, expensive, gives short measures every time (well they try to).
When you buy a spirit with a mixer they fill the glass with ice and then they try to fob you off with a dribble out of an opened bottle of mixer.
All the signs of a business that will not survive the downturn but what's to miss ?
