There can be no denying Britain’s love for cakes – we treat ourselves at weddings, social gatherings, formal dinner parties and even take the time to create and bake them for our best friend’s birthday. With so many types of cake to choose from, the cup cake has increasingly become an enjoyable national treasure in the UK, and more often we find ourselves indulging in these little delights. Well cup cakes will be growing on trees at the South Holland Food Festival on the 15th August. Budding bakers are invited to come along and pluck a cake from the cupcake tree for inspiration to create their own.
The Cup Cake Tree promotes Cake Britain, sponsored by Tate & Lyle Sugars, the UK’s first ever edible art exhibition. They are providing cake lovers with a wonderful art exhibition. This delicious showing born out of the London based Cake Britain Edible Art Exhibition on the 27th –29th August hopes to encourage us all to turn on our inventive charm by entering an exciting competition. Here people of all ages will be able to send in pictures of their creations to help build a map of baking Britain, while it will also see the work of some of the UK’s top cake bakers demonstrating their flair in producing cakes in the name of art. Visitors will have an opportunity to pick and eat the cakes before attempting their own creation.
Throughout the show there is an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate Tate & Lyles Sugars Fairtrade commitment all in the name of “Fair”.
