Panther Cars

I have used Panther Cars for over 5 years and have never had a problem , all of their drivers have been polite and have been on time picking up me and my parents , who are elderly. I do recommend Panther cars as the best cab company in Dulwich

I booked this taxi firm for a drop off and pick up from Gatwick airport. The drop off was very good, punctual and friendly. However, when we landed on our return, the taxi was nowhere to be seen. They didn't even contact me to let me know, I had to call them. The taxi eventually appeared nearly ONE HOUR LATE (we had no option but to wait as we have two babies and the taxi firm knew this). The driver couldn't even find his way around the airport and I had to direct him on the telephone for about ten minutes. When I called the office to complain about the delay, the person I spoke to was rude, offhand and not at all apologetic. They said you have to expect delays with 'public transport'!!!! Then to top it off they tried to over-charge me at the end of the journey. i don't think i've ever come across such poor customer service. Never ever again.

I booked a taxi to take my father to Clapham Junction for 5.30am to catch a train to Gatwick airport. I made the booking the previous day, with plenty of notice and talked to the woman on the phone to decide the best time for the car to arrive to catch the train.

However, when the taxi hadn't arrived at 5.35am, I called and the woman who answered sounded half asleep. When I mentioned the booking she seemed to wake up and suddenly remember it. She then said the taxi was two minutes away and was held up by a previous booking. It was apparent when it then arrived ten minutes later that she had only just sent out the order. As a consequence my father missed his train.

If they had at least called beforehand to say they were running late we could have called another taxi.

I would consider a good taxi service to be primarily on time and of good value. This was neither and as a result, not only did my father miss his train, he wasted money on a pointless taxi journey (£16) a train ticket he had previously booked to Gatwick airport (£9) and had to buy a second ticket to the airport (£17.90).

This in addition to the added stress of trying to get to the airport in time means that I would NOT recommend Panther cars if you are looking for a reliable and on-time taxi service.
