We've used Carpoint several times a year for the past 7 years - most recently to rent a Megane to visit our son over the Easter weekend. We've had the a couple of scrapes over the years and got a parking ticket one time, but our experience has always been great. Harry is always welcoming with a ready smile and certainly hasn't ever applied mysterious charges as with the previous reviewer.
If you're looking to hire a car in south London, take it from us, you won't do better than Carpoint for customer service - and the prices are pretty good too.

The last time we hired a car from these guys a misterious charge was taken out of our account a week after returning the car. When we approached Harry about it he said that he would look into it and let us know why this was. I had to ring a further 3 times and each time we was fobbed off with the same excuse of we'll look into it. To date we have not had a response as to why this was, and that was over two months ago.Really bad customer service and the last time we shall use this company. We would rather pay an extra few quid and get a decent car elswhere. Dont fall for the ol ' i'll upgrade you for free' chestnut either, we came to realise that the cars here are of very poor quality.

We have been renting cars from CarPoint for about 3 years now and I can only say that the service is degrading each time we take a car. This weekend was really the worst I have ever felt about a car company. We booked the cheapest car pick-up on Friday, return Sunday night and paid the full £84 when all the people before us got discounts. We were apparently upgraded kindly to a Renault Megane. This was a total scam – this car was really dangerous: shortly after we left the light ‘service due’ came on. We could not go back to mention something as it was past 19:00 and noone picked-up the phone anymore. Since we needed to drive 3 hours, we decided to go ahead – however we got honked on the highway several times, so we decided to stop. Our brake lights and indicator lights were not working properly!!! Our indicators were using the brake lights and not showing any sides when indicating, and our brakes used the indicator lights?!? On a winter evening, this is really dangerous! When it started to rain this was the chery on the cake… we had to stop as the wipers were so old they did not wipe anything at all.
When I called Harry the following morning, all I was told was to call the RAC and clean the wipers!?! What a non-sense. We had to take my mother-in-law to the hospital and could not afford waiting a few hours for the RAC to come… especially when you pay £84 for a car for 48 hours! Then because it was so dangerous we had to get a cab to go see the fireworks and leave early the following day to avoid driving in the dark. This morning we mentioned all of this when returning the car – only to be told ‘Have a good day’ and being verbally pushed out!
This is what you get in return of being loyal and a good customer – last time when they charged us £120 for a broken light (which we were unaware of when returning the car), we did pay as we trusted it was a good company. To say the least my idea has changed completely!

I give carpoint 10 out of 10. the company i had booked a van from let me down, i was moving and a friend recommended carpoint. They were so helpful and found me a van at short notice. Prices are not expensive and you get an excellent service. Well done guy's i will be back for a car when i need one.

I used these guys when I had to move house. After shopping around I found them to be the cheapest for a transit van. I didn't have to set up an account and they didn't take a massive deposit like most of the other places (I'm looking at you Sixt). The van wasn't brand new but was clean and in good condition.

All in all, they are very friendly and professional - highly recommended.
