Delighted with the service. Quick, polite reliable and no hidden costs.

As a younger lady with no knowledge you expect to get lead down the garden path, but they were honest and helpful from the outset.

I'm so happy to have found such a brilliant garage in London.

This is certainly a family run garage on Friday when I turned up with out an appointment as I had a strange noise the Lady in the office, who turned out to be the wife of the owner, managed to get one of the mechanics to have a look at my car almost straight away as they seemed very busy when I arrived I was not really holding out much hope for having my car back for the weekend on a quite quick inspection the mechanic showed me a rough grove on my brakes and told me that the brake pads looked like they were worn out and would need replacing along with the disks but he would need to check properly to be sure as they had no ramp at that time could I leave it and they would call with a proper diagnosis and price if necessary, so I left the car with them. Within half an hour I had that dreaded call from the garage the car was in need of the Disks and pads but the price was so reasonable I was expecting a bill in excess £300 but it wasn't even half that! They also repairs the car then and there so I got the car back for the weekend. thank you all at Hearn Bros I will recommend you most highly to all my friends. Andy Todd.

I had my car service and mot done at Hearn Bros for the first time two weeks ago and although the car needed extra work to get it through the mot it was all explained to me and on collection the parts they had taken off were shown to me and Matt showed me what broken and explained why it had failed the mot. As a lady driver, I basically put petrol in the car and go! When the car went in to them there was an orange light on the dash, it has been on for the last couple of years! the last two times I have had the car serviced (by the VW main dealer) they did nothing about it only telling the dash board might have a fault! Roman told me that a valve on the intake to do with exhaust gas was dirty and jammed so they cleaned it and now it should be ok. Two weeks since my visit and the light is still off, the car feels so much better smoother and using less fuel!!! is this possible? Any I just wanted to let you all know that this is by far the best Garage in South London and far better than the Main Dealer I used to use. Go and give them a try.

I wouldn't recommend this garage to my worst enemy.
Never take your car there. I have put my car in to have the fan fixed three times now. Not once has it ever been fixed. In the same visit I also had the wiper blades changed. The result was bent wiper blades. Two very simple jobs appallingly done.

You really are being a little unfair in your criticism, Ms M. The problem with the heater fan on your Clio was caused by very badly corroded electrical connections on the motor, which we did explain to you at the time. We cleaned up the connections as far as we could as a temporary repair and the fan was working when we left your vehicle in the street for you to pick up after hours. As we explained, the heater motor will need replacement to effect a permanent cure to the problem. We only charged you our minimum quarter of an hour's labour for removing the scuttle panel and heater motor and cleaning the contacts, hardly an unreasonable charge. As for the new wiper blades we fitted for the MOT being 'bent', we can only surmise that they may have been vandalised after the car was left in the street. When you telephoned us with your complaint on the following day, we immediately offered to look at both these problems for you, absolutely free of charge, but you declined to return the vehicle to us. I really don't know what else we could have done to be more reasonable. Please do feel free to contact me at any time if you wish to discuss this matter further, I will be glad to talk to you. Matt.

More in sorrow than in anger.

We used them for many many years. Then, one day, just after a service and MOT, I got a flat tyre, fortunately near my home. I am a fairly hefty man and reasonably competent with tools and DIY but I could not shift the wheel nuts at all, including jumping on the wheel spanner. Clearly, they had put the wheels back on with the power tool and not bothered to back them off. I had to call the AA to change the wheel, and the patrolman had to use a five foot extension to the spanner to get the nuts off. He also had to inflate the spare tyre. So, they hadn't done that either.

I went back to them and said, fair's fair, we all make mistakes, and asked them to repair the punctured tyre at their cost as a gesture. Nothing doing. They were resentful, like it was my fault, and although they backed off the nuts on the other wheels nothing was said. If they had admitted it and said sorry, I would have forgiven them. But I am never using them again. Matt was not present for this, but if he does not know what his workers are doing that's just as bad.

We had another service today and the new garage reported that the head on the sump nut was completely worn off, so no spanner would fit it. Hearn were the only servicers of the car so that must be their responsibility too. Very disappointed. I am not saying they were guilty of this, but in my experience garages and other service people end up taking liberties with customers of long standing because they take them for granted.
Response from Matt Walkliing Business Owner
With respect, Mr T, you are being slightly unreasonable in your report of events. When you contacted us, you seemed to be accusing us of being responsible for the puncture, as we had serviced the car the previous day ! When you brought the tyre in to us for the puncture repair, we pointed out that a screw had penetrated through the shoulder of the tyre and it was therefore not possible (or legal) to be repaired. You then expected us to replace the tyre free of charge, which we were not prepared to do, as the cause of the damage was no fault of ours. I can assure you we were not in the least resentful and, had a puncture repair been possible, we would indeed have
effected it gratis, as a gesture of goodwill to a valued customer. It did however seem a little unreasonable to expect us to replace the damaged tyre. As for the wheelnuts being overtightened and for not checking the spare tyre pressure, I can only apologise profusely, I'm afraid I can offer no excuse for this oversight. Regarding the sump plug, it is difficult for me to comment. They do naturally get worn off over time and we would normally replace one in that condition as a matter of course, as it is in our interests too to be able to remove a sump plug easily, especially as they are not an expensive item to replace. I can assure you we never take our customers for granted and we certainly don't take liberties with them or their vehicles. Please contact me at your convenience, as I really would like to personally clear up any misunderstandings that may have developed. Matt.

Having not used Hearn Bros before, I was really pleased with the service they provided.

They were efficient and friendly, servicing my car on the same day it was taken in. They also explained the work necessary in simple terms that I could understand without being patronising.

An extra and unnecessary bonus was that they dropped my fixed car back to my house,(admittedly not far from the garage), since I work in the City and wouldn't be back in time to collect it. This really was above and beyond the call of duty and I really appreciated their level of service.

I would certainly recommend Hearn Bros to any friends who needed a garage in future, as well as using them again myself.

Thank you Hearn Bros!
