Not often I go to auction houses ,but found this one, couple of things I liked so thought I would like to make a bid but actually it was on the day of the auction so went along a long only bought one item the other one went above the asking price in the catalogue .
But while I was waiting for my last item to come up an item came up with a very low value it was a broken violin which was valued in their catalogue think it was about £40 -£60 well I have to say was absolutely GOB -SMACKED it made £5000 pounds so am now going around car boot sales looking for old violins still shocked thinking about it .

Useful Tips from AIL Users
Don't be afraid to ask staff how much they think something might sell for - they often can give a very accurate prediction if you want to bid in advance. If you don't see something the first time you go in, keep popping in.

I've been using this auction house on and off for 10 years. Off when my husband gets upset with me buying too much vintage furniture!
I've always found the staff to be brusque but actually very helpful and friendly if you're polite to them.
Lots of tat but some really interesting bits and pieces. You can place a bid in advance of the auction and then ring on Monday to be told if you've won!
Much more fun than IKEA!

Bad experience here, items of great sentimental value were damaged greatly reduced their value.Found staff aggressive and difficult to deal with.Items overpriced on estimation then had to be reduced in order to sell.No care shown towards perfectly conditioned items of furniture whilst on shop floor.
