Shantel AV
Audio Visual Specialist at 11-13 Long Lane
This is a really excellent company - I have used them on several occasions. They have very competitive prices for their equipment; often have stocked TV’s, DVD players etc you will struggle to find in the Comets of this world; and offer an excellent and reliable installation and follow-up service. Any (minor) problems I have had have been sorted out quickly and without quibbling. They have a skilled young engineer on site too, who can handle repairs for you. Adam, who runs the store, has a keen eye for a bargain for you. They are well worth a visit; not least because you get the follow-up care and attention totally absent from web purchases and hard to get from the big stores. You are assured of a warm and helpful welcome.

was looking for a new t.v for my familly and I went to John Leiws and stood there for more that 30minutes without a salesman around me then I went to currys but the salesman was very rude. after I ended up in a small shop called Shantel av in finchely. the salesman was very knowledgeable and i bought a new LCD t.v which was dilivered straight away! it was free of charge & also instaled free. I will recomend Shantel av for everybody young or old!Shantel av sells washing machiens, fridges, hobs, e.c.t.

I live locally in Finchley and I always use Shantel when I need any electrical equipment. So far over the years I've bought two fridges, a freezer, two tvs, a camcorder and when I need any minor items such as batteries etc I always pop into Shantel as they give such a friendly service.
More recently my Sky Satellite Dish has been playing up and one of the engineers turned up and sorted it out.
I have to say the staff are extremely friendly, business like and more to the point they are not like the typical high street shop where if you have a problem they are going to charge you the earth for a service call.
Shantel 10/10 in my opinion.
I live in Finchley & when I (or my friends) are in the market for electrical goods ie. white goods, audio-visual etc. I end up buying them from Adam of Shantel Av. The goods are delivered & fitted ie no nightmare working out where cables go & staff will show me how to operate new purchase; they take away packaging too. He'll also take the olf / faulty goods away (if you pay the fee he's charged at thr recycling centre - only private individuals are not charged)but I for one can't move white goods! I completely trust Adam and his staff. You pay for the goods but I have not been charged for delivery or labour. The free delivery may be coz I'm local but if I moved away I'd happily pay delivery because even after receipt of goods I can ring Adam if I have a query re. latest purchase & if he can't help over the phone he'll send someone round to show / explain how it works. Can't praise SHANTEL AV in Finchley N3 enough.
I can honestly say that my experience of this shop has been very bad. I ordered 3 items over the phone and when they arrived, not one of them was what we agreed on (different spec, different brand etc.) Because of my lack of knowledge about consumer law, I accepted them.
This was most regrettable as one of these items was defective and I have had nothing but trouble trying to get it repaired.I have even been spoken to in a threatening manner by them.
I think this shop is run by dishonest and unethical people. Unfortunately it is these kind of shops that will send customers running to the big chain stores and away from local businesses.
Have your say
