Alen's Fish & Chips

I work in Holborn and eat at Alen's every day during the week. Try the cod/fish fingers or the fishcakes they are an absolute delight, served with salad, coleslaw, chips etc.They also do bottles of lager which is unusual for a chip shop. Family run business who always have a smile on there face.

I was looking for a good, traditional, honest chippie in London, and that's exactly what I found. Amidst the plethora of trendy, ethnic restaurants visiting this restaurant is like stepping back in time. The staff were very friendly, tables stocked with the necessary condiments, and a TV in the corner. What more could you ask for? The cod was fresh and meaty, chips were nice and thick. All washed down with a can of coke. and mushy peas. Heart-warming!

Good proper chips, fairly standard scampi, enlivened by excellent home made tartare sauce with dill, lovely friendly service. I'm difficult to please but I would come back for sure. Decent fish and chips is hard to find these days.

Working so close it's hard trying to limit your visits to Alens's as always you are served Fish & Chips cooked to perfection - and Tartare sauce which they should bottle and sell! Easy to see why this excellent friendly family run restaurant and take away is so popular.

A family run "Fish and Chip" shop upholding the old traditions of good food and good service in the heart of London. You can eat in or takeaway. The quality of the fish is second to none. Try the home made tartar sauce or one of their pies. Fantastic value for money. The family owners are incredibly friendly and polite. They've worked hard to deserve its glowing local reputation. A little gem of a place !!
