I was really looking forward to trying their jerk chicken having walked past every day. I went to order chicken and rice and was told it was cash only. So I said I will be back in 2 minutes going to the local cash point and asked if they can start putting my order together, to which a friendly lady said that will be fine. When I came back another lady was there, I explained the situation and she said it will take an hour for the jerk chicken to be cooked, her tone was very rude and was very disinterested in even offering an alternative, which I would have happily taken!

I was in croydon today and really fancied some jamaican food as its delicious so i went to taste of jamaica and was shocked at the bad attitude and the ignorance of the staff. I was waiting for 5 or so mins and none of them had even acknowledged me standing and waiting. There was 1 other person waiting for their order so i just thought when they were done with them i could place my order, instead another customer walked in behind me and the lady behind the counter looked straight at him and asked for his order .So i waited a further couple of minutes and she had her back to me and when i asked for 2 jerk sandwiches she didnt turn and answer but kissed her teeth and got the sandwiches out of the counter and threw them across the till area in a angry manner i was so shocked i couldnt believe it ,i felt so uncomfortable with her aggressive manner .
I am half white half mauritian and felt this to be due to my colour as the other two customers were both black and had no problems at all. I have never been in this kind of position before and definately wont be going there again . What a shame that someone can be treated so badly because of the colour of there skin !

You are what they call paranoid ,I don't know what happened I wasn't there but you are the first person to mention my staff treating them in a bad way.The shop has been open now for five years and not one complaint.I would also like to point out that I'm mixed race and we also have to White members of staff and hundreds of White pure White customers who eat in our shop weekly and i know as a fact that my staff are proud to have White people eating our food in the first place. So please don't assume you sound paranoid.
