The pancakes in this place are not freshly made, but reheated - and poorly too, because they were only half warm. From the taste of it, they were probably prepared last week. Either that, or I ate sugared cardboard. Even the coffee in this 'cafe' is bad.

The service is slow and unfriendly, bordering with downright rude. Honest mistakes by customers are answered with scorn.

And to top it all off, the prices they charge you are high, even for London standards.

We popped into The Pancake Cafe for a bite to eat in between getting some culture at The British Museum. Four of us ordered paninis and pancakes and we ended up staying there for an hour an a half because the service was criminally slow and whenever we tried to get someone's attention they would nod and smile then forget all about us, to the point where one of our party had to get up and go to the counter to make our order. The panini was okay but my pancake tasted a bit like cardboard.

When we finally got out of there, they'd lost our bill and we had to laboriously list what we'd ordered.

Worst service I've ever encountered in an eaterie.
