I often ring Hortons in Beckenham for an order and they always get my dressed crab and tubs of mussels ready for me to collect the next day. The crab and mussels are wonderful. Andy and his team are absolutely brilliant. Friendly, happy, eager to please. They are such nice people. If there has been a rush on crab they will do one for me while I wait or come back in a short time.

I love their fish. It is always fresh and they always give us advice if we ask what is worth buying when we visit. I much prefer going there then to the supermarket.

We live in Beckenham and try and get into Horton's for fresh fish at least once per week. The service is friendly and the produce always of a high quality. Would recommend.

Visited this fishmongers for the second time today. I know very little about fish! Just needed white fish fillets for a recipe. I wanted to get a "sustainable" option rather than cod. The man in the shop showed me all the options and took of all the skin and filleted the fish I chose. He was pleasant and polite. They had a lot of different varieties and the fish looked really fresh. There were also live mussels for £6 per kilo, think I'll try them next time.
The fish (pollack) was very tasty! The only other time I've been in to Horton's was to buy fishcakes, they were also very nice indeed.
I feel quite lucky to have a fishmongers on the high street - I hope they're successful It's certainly a whole lot better than the defrosted-looking fish they're offering in Sainsburys!

I read the info in their website and asked a few questions about what they would recommend for my fish receipe in terms of quantity/best ingredients: no reply ...not seemed to be able to give any advice 9shop was empty so they were not pressed for time!), (certainly not like in the Continent where fishmongers know their stuff!). A bit disappointing considering the guys have 15 years experience.
I have also asked what they sourced from Borough Market (website clearly states "accomponiments" from B.Market and the answer was "we get our veggies from Borough Market"! ) . Not really impressed with the service either: distant, cold and definitely anonymous for an independent shop.Fish was ok though.
