Co-op Welcome
Convenience Store at 107-109 Pitshanger Lane
Co-op Welcome sell a selection of fresh and frozen food as well as dairy products, confectionery, tobacco, alcohol and groceries. They also sell mobile top up cards and stamps.
Staff are friendly and helpful, the shop is well stocked and merchandise attractively displayed.
However I would concur with the previous reviewer's comments about queuing. Usually when I go in there is one till open (plus the self service tills). A large queue builds up, then the person on the till asks for another staff member to come and assist.
In fairness, this often happens at other shops I visit as well; other staff are often stocking the shelves.
I am sad to say that this branch has deteriorated recently. The service is very shoddy, there are always needless queues and the aisles are always crowded with unpacked goods.
But the worst thing is the smell - the whole shop has a truly disgusting smell and none of the staff seem to understand when people complain. Heaven knows what it is but is smells like something is very rotten indeed.
It needs someone from head or branch office to literally come in from outside to experience this so something can be done about it. The people who work there are obviously so used to it they no longer notice.
Something should be done quickly before health and safety issues arise.
