The vegetarian buffet at Alara is one of the wonders of the world; it's hot and salady vegetarian food with a light and imaginative touch, manages to breach the gap between the best of home cooking and what you might expect in a commercial operation. There's a wide choice of dishes, changing daily and it's charged by the 100g, so it's definitely not eat as much as you like, unless your name is Getty. But fab, every time I go there I just want to go back the next day for more. Yesterday I enjoyed a beetroot hummus and the daily carrot and mozzarella lasange, along with a delicious rice salad and all the other stuff I piled on my plate. Recently there was something fantastic involving avocado, chickpeas and quinoa... Along with Planet Organic and Food for Thought, this is top stuff, and in my book, the very best of all. Good going, Alara.
