Oh I completely love Pulp, great fun atmosphere, I have moved to the countryside now, but when I lived nearby they were my local, always felt looked after, love the music, banter, coffee and hair colour, I even had my hair put up for my wedding here.... I miss them so much, but it's just not practical for me to travel so far.... Sob!

I have been going to pulp for a number of years and have always been totally happy they know exactly the right colour highlights for my skin colour expert colour advice... would be a sad shame if they have not come back from this lockdown and I for one will definitely miss them as I am not ready to start looking for somewhere new. Please can the owner of pulp let us know what is happening ASAP .

Thanks

usual excellent stylist away so different stylist but is:
- uneven ends; messy
- lopsided body; weight not uniform
- all ends split because of instrument used
- gave opportunity to put right; they did not, and they said they would not charge me for coming back ??? ...and they said come back again if need be...
- came back 'again and asked for refund; they said they can't because they claimed they have no cash
- came back yet 'again for refund via credit card; they then did not refund.. they then claimed they have to ask the owner first...

Hair cuts here are very variable. At times I have been really pleased but more recently I have left disappointed. They seem in a rush to get you out of the door, especially if you are the last customer of the day. I won't go back to pulp.

I've been a (male) client for many years. If you were wondering about the name you should know that there was once a second-hand bookshop called "Fiction" over the road. The hairdressers came later and called themselves "Pulp" as a joke. The bookshop closed a long time ago...
I find the cut is good and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly. I can certainly recommend it.

I'm pleased with the haircut and the hairdresser was nice. But for what it looks like from the outside, including bottles of Champagne on the counter, there was no drink offered! I expected a beer or wine or some such. It looked like somewhere that gave an experience. I get more of an experience at a barbers.

The lady that took my money didn't even look at me once. Even when she handed me the receipt.

Never going back. What a disappointment. I'd been walking past for years meaning to make this my regular place. It's just a very standard and tight (see beer point) well decorated haird

My first hair cut and colour at Pulp and I'm very pleased with the result and will be definitely going again. Lovely stylists and lots of cups of tea! Music a bit too loud and would have liked a head massage but otherwise very impressed.

Possibly the worst haircut I've had for years.
I would recommend that the stylist listens to the requirements of the client.
I asked to still be able to tie up my hair and for no short layers due to the volume/wave of my hair. This was ignored and I now can't tie it back and have short layers.

Pulp has one of the best hairdressers I've experienced in over 60 years but I award only 9 not 10 because the music is too loud

I went for the first time today. Music not too loud, place vibrant and alive. All the girls are lovely. Got a great colour and great cut for a great price. They only get a 9 cause they missed out a little head massage. But overall experience GREAT! Highly recommended!

Great service and prices but the music is too loud. Being exposed to noise levels this loud all day surely causes damaged hearing to the staff? I breathed a sigh of relief every time the CD finished...but then it all started again. Please turn it down. Please.

I have been using Pulp for several years. It is excellent. Skilled hairdressers, very professional, always on time, taking care to provide good customer service and very friendly. It is reasonably-priced in general and seems permanently to offer men's haircuts at half price off peak, which are particularly good value. My only complaint is that the music is too loud.

I've just come back from my first trip to Pulp and am incredibly happy - the staff are all really friendly, the atmosphere's great and I have an excellent cut. The stylist understood my hair very well and gave me helpful advice on care and styling it. I would thoroughly recommend them and will certainly be a repeat customer!

I have been a customer at Pulp since they first opened - probably at least 10 years ago. The stylists are excellent, and the atmosphere relaxed. There is a low turnover of staff, the same people have been there for a long time, which is definitely a good sign.

They have some good reductions if you go mid week, they make a great coffee, and they always have the latest magazines.

The staff at Pulp are friendly, professional and in my top 5 hairdressers in London. They are inexpensive, and you wont pay for any extras. In London, most hairdressers will charge you over £100 for a cut, colour and blowdry. Pulp prices are really good. Cut and blowdry £35. Colour - from £30 (depending on what you want). They also have excellent hair treatments, ranging from £20.

Would definately recommend.
