I have been to a few salons in the area and i am really disappointed with that they suggested me to walk out with really dark hair and not what i am after. i am looking for someone who will be able to tell me what to do to get the colour i want not just go off a colour board, until I found ESHK, the guy with an european accent, he gave me 3 suggestions so I picked one in the end, I am very happy with the result, and that's what I called service and being able to advice you more than one choice.
Will go back for sure. Also thanks for the ESHK team treated me very nicely.

I went with 2 of my friends, we all from Japan, we really like the salon, it looks so cool and love their furnitures, also luckily my hairdresser is japanese so I found it easy to explain my hair, i think her skill is a bit more advance than a japanese hairdresser in Japan, because i saw her cutting someone before my turn and the haircut was very trendy (Like Eastend cool)
We thought to have a haircut in this london town and we all were happy with everything in ESHK, only thing is avoid Saturday, they said is the busiest day but if you book earlier then should be ok.
All i have to say is a good salon and very unique

I used to see Anita at ESHK and she left a few months ago...WHERE IS SHE??? I've been back to the salon a couple of times and seen two different stylists and have to say was not very impressed. You can tell the standard has dropped a bit and it's all getting a bit too 'chi-chi' at ESHK. It seems that if you're not super-fashionable you're not made to feel so welcome anymore. But the main point really is that the haircuts I received have been average...stylist took too long(over an hour)and unmanageable to style when i got home. Also found the service and atmosphere to be dull and stuck-up/bossy attitude of the young manager! So I'm out of there, on the hunt around London to find a new stylist and a salon that is a little more down to earth. With a little luck Anita won't be too hard to find!

After a month of googling 'affordable hair salons in barbican' i came across ESHK and decided to give it a shot. Even thought it wasnt super cheap but i found 40 pounds worth a shot for it wouldn't get cheaper than that in central london. They don't do student discounts but are still cheaper compared to others in the same location. the salon was very comfy and clean, the staff was polite, and since i reached a few minutes early i even got to enjoy a cup of delicious hot tea (on the house)! A woman named Polly cut my hair (it was £40 for a cut from a junior stylist) but it was worth it! i left with exactly the cut i needed (and im very finicky). She didn't pull or tug on my hair and put in proper effort in the blowdry. Definitely an 9 on the scale of 10.
Have your say
