I took my almost 5 year old to the salon today as she needed a haircut. The hair dresser commented on how the cropped hair and fringe that I had suggested would look 'bad' on my daughter. She also said 'If you want all these things done then you can take her to a different salon. We only do simple cuts'. This is after we had sat down for the haircut. I told her that my little one used to have that style a couple of years ago.

During the haircut she was very impatient with my daughter when it came to moving the head or chin a certain way. My daughter was trying her best. I felt that the hairdresser failed to understand that a small child can't be as precise as an adult when it comes to tilting the head up/ down and keeping it in the same position. (In a different branded salon it was a breeze for the hairdresser and he adjusted to dealing with my daughter when she was even younger!).

At one point this hairdresser become annoyed and said to me 'I have two more people

I was very very happy with my previous hairdresser, but I moved very recently to this area and this was the first haircut I'd had since. My hairdresser was just a small private business so I thought somewhere with a large chain such as Supercuts would rival my previous haircuts.
I was wrong.
It was the worst experience ever. When the stylist was washing my hair she was talking to all the other members of staff(who were washing and styling each other's hair!, threw a towel(yes physically threw)onto my chest and I noticed she hadn't put any conditioner on. When she tucked my hair into the thrown towel she pinched my head really hard. But this was just the start of things to come. As she proceeded to cut my hair, she tucked the towel around my shoulders into my necklace, pulling it across my neck and practically garrotted me! Never mind the fact she nearly broke some expensive jewellery!
As she was brushing my hair, all sorts of knots were appearing (because she hadn't conditioned it- my hair is never ever knotty when I wash it myself, it's always very smooth and soft)which she tugged at, thus hurting me and actually breaking my hair- I heard it snap! Every minute she kept telling me to keep my head up straight but she was tugging it so hard I had to choice but to react!
When she actually did my haircut she lifted up a bit of hair and literally hacked into it, I would've done it more professionally myself.
She obviously noticed something was wrong because she kept asking if I was ok. I couldn't even talk to her for fear of murdering her!
I had specifically told her I didn't want a blow dry because I'd have to wash it when I got home because she hadn't conditioned it but she proceeded to load it with product in order to blow dry it, at which point I was like do you not listen to anything!
When I got home and ifnally saw the haircut, it's awful. You can see all the layers and hacked bits everywhere and now I'm going to have to pay to get it fixed.
