City Eyes

I have been a client of Charles from day1 in 1989. He has been superb in his knowledge, professionalism and service consistently throughout the past 27 years. It is very rare in the UK to obtain such quality service. He is a real gentleman who genuinely cares for his clients and it is lovely to see that he has now been joined by his delightful daughter Belinda who also displays strong technical and personal skills. Highly recommend.

Incredibly expensive compared to equally experienced (award winning) and knowledgeable suppliers just a bit further out. The quote for Ortho-K lenses was super high. For a fraction of the price you can get the same somewhere else. Thankfully, we knew a person who had already purchased Ortho-K lenses for her two son's for less than half the price including liquids, check-ups and the same tests.

The staff was really nice but the whole appointment took 3 hours. Perhaps reduce the chatting and focus on reducing time for each appointment. This would also reduce costs for appointments. I think perhaps City Eyes should research other suppliers and their price range as Ortho-K lenses could be very popular.

I have known Charles Babumba of City Eyes opticians for some 13 years and have always found his diligence and professionalism to have been of the highest possible standard.
He has supplied me with both spectacles and contact lenses during this period and on two occasions has provided diagnostic services which have undoubtedly been instrumental in safeguarding my health.

My experience of Mr Babumba’s professional standards has always been that he takes the welfare of his customers very seriously and always gives his advice on the basis of the highest standard of care. He has frequently called me after consultations in order to check that I have carried out the recommended or required actions, whether this has been to speak to my GP, to use lenses in the prescribed manner, or to take the necessary steps to ensure the health of my eyesight. This diligence is beyond the normal duty of a high street optometrist and is one of the reasons why I have continued to use City Eyes for the past 13 years.

I have no hesitation in attesting to Mr Babumba’s professional and ethical conduct being of the highest order and would be happy to recommend his services to anyone.

I had never heard about OrthoK contact lenses until I saw the ITV feature of Philip Schofield being fitted with these unique lenses at City Eyes Ophthalmic Opticians in the City (London). I found the feature on the TV breakfast show to be quite fascinating and I decided to visit City Eyes. ORTHOK lenses are truly amazing... I only wear them when I go to sleep, and when I take them out in the morning, I have perfect vision all day along without the need for glasses, contact lenses or laser surgery. I can play sport and everything I want without the hassle of glasses or contact lenses. I would highly recommend OrthoK lenses to those who are suitable. The service at City Eyes blew my mind away...the practice is fully equipped with the most amazing technology that I have ever come across. The Optometrist and his staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, innovative and full of enthusiasm for what they do. They told me that they do not only design OrthoK overnight lenses, but also bespoke contact lenses for many conditions and also bespoke spectacle frames. I also managed to purchase a pair of cool Maui Jim sunglasses, apparently they will protect my eyes from the dangerous UV rays from the sun that cause cataracts, macular distortion and possible UV burns on the front surface. Computer usage is now a doodle as I don't get dry eyes, and the highest point of my new freedom from glasses and contacts is that I can wake up at night and admire the beautiful face of my girlfriend whilst she is asleep, whereas before all I could see was a blur. Thank you Charles and everybody at City Eyes, I will tell all my friends and family about OrthoK.
