No longer live in London ,but when I did Dave made several suits for me, on a nostalgia trip at moment, the suits were superb, pinhead mohair, coloured linings etc, some in the style of Jason King, would love to be able visit again but nor really possible, however would rate this tailors 5 stat every time

Dave has made me trousers and altered suits for me before. This was the first time he had ever made me a whole suit from scratch. We worked on it and planned it together. At first he was rather shocked by some of my wilder suggestions but he worked at it, he suggested his own alternatives and at the end of the process we were both delighted. A seemingly sober suit with some real stand out flashes. Thank you Dave.

Looking for a quality blazer to be worn stylishly on many occasions I consulted Dave Wax Tailoring in Hammersmith Road. Dave listened carefully to what I was after and produced a range of suitings to match my needs. The strength of this consultation was that it was a dialogue in which I, (and my wife!) had strong input tempered by Dave's wise comments and suggestions. The result was an excellently tailored blazer and - not surprisingly - trousers to complete the task! All in all a first rate experience.
I visited Dave Wax tailors for suit tailoring. I found them initially to be very complimentary and give good advice. However the initial consultation and price was fair but upon trying it on the fit wasn't right and it ended up costing me a lot more with 'additional tasks' they needed to do and taking a lot longer. It should have bene pretty obvious to a decent tailor that the initial work was going to leave the jacket far too long. As I challenged this they grew annoyed. I wanted a tailor I could trust to do ongoing work but that will not be this one. Also bear in mind the chap at the front of the store is not the tailor - he has other staff upstairs that do the work.

In addition to my response I would like to make readers to this review clearer of the reason this person has given 2 out of 10 . He brought in a M&S dinner suit which had been pre altered badly and was baggy trousers and loose Jacket. The job was costed at £450 but he said his budget was £350, therefore some items had to be deleted to make a reasonable job of this old suit as he had a wedding to attend. Suit was ready few days before, after trying the suit ,which he was happy with, he thought jacket needs shortening [one item deleted from original estimate costing £65] this was done at reduced price of £15, he came few days later and he was happy with Jacket, now he picked an item that the pockets on trouser are standing open, I explained that we have only tapered lower part of the trouser, but as trouser is cut in this style it is big job to put that right, the band needs removing and reposition pockets seams ,cost £70, he did not want to spend that, and we did simple alteration FOC . [I am 73 and have this family business which was established since 1912] ,few years ago remember when I was young, I bought a mini Cooper, and my friend bought Mini Minor, but he added a Cooper badge to it, I am telling you this because this Gentleman than asked me to remove an M&S badge from his Jacket and put a Dave Wax Tailors Badge, which means he is aware if Dave Wax Quality and he is happy to show his friends that suit he is wearing is Dave Wax suit, but what he does not realize that we have left M&S lables inside his inner pockets. He has no reason to feel so unhappy ,spend £70 and have the pockets to shut or buy a proper Dave Wax Suit than you will really feel proud to wear quality and never ever have anything to complain about. I am sorry that he feels bad as we can only do so much to alter suits not cut by human, these suits are cut and made by machines and only can be altered to curtain point. Dave

Dave is a very nice and professional tailor that listens to his customers. He was able to alter suits that exactly meet my expectations. In addition, he works very efficiently, finished my alternations within a matter of days! Very impressive overall.
I was born in Italy, where the best tailors are from.
I moved to London a long time ago and it was really difficult to find a good tailor.
Since I have been to Dave Wax Tailor, I can feel at home. Dave knows what I want before I even ask for it: he is an expert on bespoke.
I found my London's tailor and I'm really happy with him; he doesn't make mistakes and I never have a complaint to make.
I would recommend to buy a bespoke suit, he has only the best fabrics.
Also, he does the alterations: don't go to Laundrette's tailors; leave your garments on expert hands!

Top service. Dave is a gentleman and listened to all of my requests. I brought my items in yesterday and they were ready to pick up today. The quality of the alteration is top notch and you can't tell there has been anything changed (which is impressive as they are a tricky stretchy fabric!). Very happy customer :-)

I was here last summer as a Dutch tourist with my son... No money for a suit but I walked in to taste the atmosphere. The man I spoke was so kind and friendly to tell me all kinds of stories about The Beatles and the Royal Family who come/came her... A true gemm in a overcommercialized London. Wait until I have the money for a 3 button suit! :)

I needed to get my highland dress jacket and waistcoat altered (taken in). Dave sorted it all within a week (in good time for an upcoming wedding) and I could not be more pleased with the results, the jacket and waistcoat now fit perfectly again. First class and friendly service.

I was in need of an urgent alteration to my new suit jacket and saw Dave Wax's tailor shop in Hammersmith.
From the moment I walked in a meet Dave, the service was first class and he managed to turnaround my jacket alteration within 36 hours for something that usually takes three days.
The results where amazing and the fit perfect and was able to attend my lunch on time in a fantastic fitting suit.
I can not recommend Dave more highly and the first class personal service received.

I've had 2 bespoke suits made by Dave Wax some years ago & they are still great, superb tailoring & excellent friendly old school service, well worth a visit.

I'm wondering if Mitchum Wax is retired now?
He made suits for The Beatles in the early 60's
I had two bespoke suits made by Dave and also several alterations to other suits. The quality is superb and on par with the best and more expensive Saville Row houses.
Once you have a suit made by Dave you will not be able to go back to off the rack suits. The quality of finish is superb and the fit is just perfect.... And he is a very nice chap.
I have had two bespoke suits made by Dave Wax and both have been excellent. I would thoroughly recommend them for both quality and price.

I have been taking clothes to Dave Wax for alteration for years now. The work is always excellent and the clothes ready to collect on the specified date. I cannot recommend Dave Wax highly enough.
Excellent service. I have used Dave Wax Tailors a number of times over the last few years. The quality of work is wonderful, the design is thoughtful and in fine taste and he provides real value for money.
