I bought a wedding dress skirt and top in Catherine Deane and was recommended to use Nicola Donati for alterations. So I took Catherine Deane’s word and trusted that he would alter my skirt and make an ivory ‘body’ to go under the lace. He quoted a ridiculously large amount of money for something that is actually very simple for an experienced dressmaker (as I later found out when meeting other dressmakers).

The top he created was a piece of material that not only my top look top look white (it should have been ivory), but it was bulky and ugly.

There are better tailors out there. He should be more honest about that he can achieve and charge the correct amount for the work he is doing.

I took my wedding dress to be altered and I asked for a body to go underneath the lace top. He was not able to do what I asked and I think he should be more honest with that he can achieve. He is super expensive for what he actually does and so I think he should be more direct and upfront about costings.

Nicola tailored my Catherine Deane wedding dress. He was a pleasure to work with. Very close attention to detail and made very valuable suggestions on how to tailor. Would go back to him in a heartbeat.

A friend of mine recommended me to go to Nicola Donati's tailoring shop to do any alterations I might need to my clothes.

I had a too small linen jacket saved by this tailoring company a few weeks ago. They had to give the maximum out they do find in the back, on the sides and in the front. The shoulders were too "big" as well and were slimmed down and redone completely to perfection.

I can enjoy my linen suit jacket again. The price was not the cheapest but the work is really well done and well worth it. I am the picky type when it comes to repairs and such. I will definitely return to them the next I have alterations as my dry cleaner is only good for cleaning garments but rubbish at amending or fixing anything.

I recently went to Nicola Donati in order to have two pairs of suit trousers adjusted at the waist and upper leg. It was only a small amount. On my first visit I was midly stunned to find that this would cost me £100.

However, on reflection I assumed this would mean a very professional job on what were very good trousers.

I went back to pick these up to find they had not been done properly. On my second visit I found they had still not been done properly - the waist was let out but the legs were too small near the top. I am sorry but when paying that sort of money I'd expect some proper measuring to be done and some assistance instead of being told "that's all we can do".

There are a number of much much cheaper tailors in London that will do a better job for a fraction of the price.

Really awful experience for what should have been a very easy job. For 100 quid to get a simple adjustment made I would expect a pretty damn good service and this did not even come close. I would highly recommend anyone to look elsewhere for your tailoring needs - the price would be fine if the workmanship was up to it but this was of a quality below the local dry cleaner.
