Okay, So I went in today to speak to the manager, and I don't know if it was an off day for her, but the customer service I received from her was really poor. I felt belittled and also a bit awkward around her - she was snappy and insensitive, and frankly had poor etiquette. I went to inquire about a job, so although I wasn't a customer per say...I still felt I should have been treated with more respect. Hmmm, I can't comment on the other staff - but all I know is if the Manager is like that, I feel for her staff.

THIS SHOP IS AMAZING ......and if you have children (even teens!!!) then really do not bother going anywhere else. Most of the staff have certainly been there for 5 years +, as my kids have grown up knowing them as 'THE' shoe ladies. I don't know what got the goat of the complaining mum last May (obviously 2 reviews by the same person!) but ACTUALLY their customer service is first class. Those ladies, and I think there is a chap in there too now, have the patience of saints... not only with the children but to be honest with the dithery mothers ... who never seem in control of their off spring. But the ladies just carry on calming the parental stress of the dreaded shoe fitting trip, letting the children play and ensuring our children are grow up with perfect feet. I know people come from far and wide to have their kids fitted by this shop and I know they are great with orthotics and splints etc as one of my mate's always takes his boy there.

I've always teased my wife that she spend as much in the red shoes on herself as she does no the kids (because they do fittings of great womens shoes too) but today she's getting me back cos I went to get 2 of the kids sorted for going back to school and also came out with a break looking pair of Onitsuka Tiger trainers. Good to see there is something for us dads as well now!

I am not at all impressed and extremely disappointed by the lack of courtesy shown by the staff of this establishment.

I agree the customer service is extremely poor.

Absolutely poor customer service...the staff was very rude and nonchalant to my family.
Never again will they receive my patronage and I strongly do not recommend this shop.

Jane's comments are spot on. There is not a shoe shop in London, and I suspect the UK that can match the red shoes on their ability, professionalism or breadth of choice for children... and yes children's shoes are not cheap but I've price matched a couple of things and the same item would be the same price and sometimes more in the bigger shops or other nearby indi kids shops. I think the staff have the patience of saints. We north London mums are quite demanding and lets face it my kids are a challenge to me let alone other people yet the ladies of the red shoes just keep smiling - amazing customer service. I hope all you north London parents visit this shop because it is a real gem that we should treasure and MUST keep going.

I was surprised to read the last review, may be you and the manager were having a bad day. We lived in Crouch End until this summer and have always had our children's shoes fitted at the red shoes, north london should consider themselves lucky to have such a treasure of a shop. They have endless patience with children and to be honest with us sometimes equally challenging parents. They don't always tell us what we want to hear but they are always honest and have the best interests of our children in mind. All the staff are fabulous, including the manager and it is lovely to see a shop where the owner is always readily available to speak to. The red shoes range of shoes and fitting skills are outstanding (on of my daughters has to have orthotic insoles), I've not been able to find a shop which even comes a close second to them. To be honest the shoes they sell aren't cheap and I sometimes take a sharp breath in when they tell me the price but the quality is so good and the shop's fitting ability so skilled that they last and last and are worth every penny.

Careful. They sell really nice and unusual ladies brands as well so I alway end up buying myself something too. Even though we've moved I will continue to bring my children back to London to be fitted at this shop, I highly recommend them.

I have found the manageress of the shop to be unhelpful and aggressive unnecessarily. I certainly will not be giving them my custom in the future.

They may be good with children, but as an adult, I have been quite shocked by her rudeness.
