Staff at Pares are so patient. I went in with my two daughters on Thursday and spent more than 2 hours in the store. Bought school shoes, trainers, canvas and sandals. Best shoe shopping experience I've had.

A superb little store! Highly recommend it! Compared to Clarks or Russell and Bromley, the selection at Pares is so much larger and the staff are always so friendly and helpful.

Just an awesome independent shoe shop. The choice is simply great and staff were very helpful, even with my little one screaming and running about the place.

We receive excellent service from Pares this weekend. My little boy has a collapsed arch and so finding shoes for him can be a nightmare. But the lady that served us was able to find a perfect pair of Ricosta shoes which fit perfectly! Highly recommend this shop!!

On the whole they buying experience is a pleasurable one, mostly attentive and with a wide selection to choose from. However the problems come in returning or exchanging items, I have never been spoken to in such a rude and aggresive manner, so will never buy shoes from Pares again.

Yes, they are always so rude in this shop it's surprising that they get any customers.

We came to this store on two occassions. The first time we had great service and purchased a pair of slippers for our 2 year old daughter hence why I have rated it a one star. Today we came to buy a pair of summer shoes. We were served by a different lady to our first visit and I am disappointed to say that this other lady was rude and seemed fed up. We decided on a pair of canvas shoes and when she bought out the other pair, it was clearly a different shade to the other shoe which was the display one. We asked if we could get another new pair and she said that these were the only ones left in that size. So we asked if they could order in another pair and she abruptly said 'No'. I asked what do they then do if someone wanted a pair of these shoes and she flatly replied that that is all they have in stock. We then said that we will just go straight to the Start-rite website and order it ourselves, and she just said 'Yes, do that'. What kind of customer service is that? Needless to say, we will not be returning to the store. I find it appalling that considering the cost of childrens shoes and the fact that they have a separate store just for childrens shoes, you would think that they would make just a little bit more effort to provide a good service and try to encourage customers to return. They are not the only ones that stock the brands that they have and we only decided to come to this store because of our first good experience. Sadly, it was an afternoon wasted and we will be going to our local Clarks instead.

A great shop for those who have difficulty with finding the right comfortable shoes in high street shops. Pares shoes have high standard, they are comfortable, good quality and elegant. I have been wearing a pair I bought from them last year, more than any other shoes! As a matter of fact, I went up and down Oxford street for shoes yesterday and could not find any as my left and right foot have a slight different sizes. It was a waste of time checking the high street so I am going to Pares today as I am sure their sizes match my feet. So if you have difficulty with high street sizes, you know where you should go.

This is a great shoe shop. They have a childrens department on one side of the road and also the adult section over the road. Their shoes are great, prices really good and also their staff are very helpful. My son has special needs and they have always been fantastic with him. It is not high priced stuff but great shoes at really good prices grear range of ecco and gabor and geox etc and lovely boots for winter. Well worth it .

This store refused me a refund or exchange on a £32 pair of Startrite shoes which split at the seams purchased for my two year old son one week previously. He had worn them 4 times and the stitching came apart at the toes. They claimed it was my fault! Do not buy from this store as the customer service is appalling if there is a problem.
