Oxfam is a development, advocacy, and relief agency working to put an end to poverty worldwide. In partnership with local groups, they work with poor people to help them help themselves. The Oxfam shops sell second-hand clothes, books and bric-a-brac as well as trade fair goods to help raise money for the charity.

I remember when this shop used to sell all the beautiful fair trade craft items form all over the world. It looked stunning, but we all wanted more clothes instead. Thankfully the manager listened to us, and shifted the craft stuff to the tottenham court rd store, and increased the fashion section.

And since then me and my mates live in this place. It seems to have gotten a bit more expensive the last year or so, but not by too much. Still, I would rather give my money to the 3rd world than to the phillip greens and peter paphides of this world!

We pop in when we finish teaching, and there’s even more stuff than the day before. Every day brings more donations, and the staff sort thru it and display it too temptingly to ignore!!

If you want a completely new fashion experience every single day – then this is the shop for you!!

I agree with the previous reviewer! Each and every time I go into this shop is like the 1st time again.

They MUST change the stock daily, because I literally go in every second lunch-break, and it’s all new to me. I do like the dresses they display on the rear wall, but it’s the accessories I really go in for.

Maybe us girls just recycle all our accessories all the time, because they have amazing shoes, belts & handbags! Carry on recycling girls – I love buying the bags you no longer want!!

I’ve literally just got all my Xmas pressies all in this one shop! Can you believe that?

Mum got a beautiful Hermes scarf for only £12, Dad got Geoff Boycotts autobiography for £3 (actually had to go back to the till to queue up as I didn’t spot it 1st time round), Sis got some incredible Urban Outfitters jewellery they must have donated after a sale (total £15), older Sis got magnificent bright red D&G coat for only £40, Bro got the complete Lost DVD’s for £30, current Steady got a pair of brown Paul Smith brogues for £40, and Jill at work got some satin evening gloves (she does so like a bit of culture!).

But there is no way that I’m going to let them all know where I got any of their pressies from.

Thank for saving me loads of money this Xmas Oxfam, same time next year?

Wonderfull mixture of designer stuff and some good old fashion bargains. Seem to change stock regularly and helpfull staff. This website does not seem to mention is now open Sundays from 11 to 4. Like the Oxfam in Goodge Street as well. One of three charity shops in this street and just a stone's throw from Oxford Street.

Besides the hunky French guy who served me at lunchtime, I really have to rate this shop 10/10!!

The attention and service I have always had here are amongst the best I’ve ever had in any retailer here or in the States. And remember, these guys are volunteers! They are doing the job out of the kindness of their hearts.

Whenever I can, I opo into this branch during my lunch break. The beauty is, you can do it a few times a week, as they get brill donations in every day, so it’s an ever-changing shop.

Todays bargains were a genuine Mary Quant handbag – with bright orange leather flowers - £14.99, Primark military blazer from about 2 years ago - £9.99 and a duffel coat from Sweden – with genuine curvy wooden button thingies - £29.99!!

A few DVD’s to keep the other half from complaining about these items, and every ones happy!!

Now – all I have to do is get the other half to practice a French accent, and it’ll be a perfect day & night.

I always promise that I’m going to say thanks when I’ve had brilliant service, but hardly ever do.

So I’m putting this right by praising the volunteers in this brill Oxfam shop!

They really looked after me today when I was after some retro clothing for a film shoot I’m working on. They went out of their way to help scour the rails (and sorting room) to find just what I was after. Of course I also found some amazing stuff for me & The Man – but I was really there for work.

I s’pose it helps that some of their volunteers are St Martins students – so they should know what they’re talking about – but even the old Scottish geezer tried to be helpful.

Thank you Oxfam in Drury Lane – you’ve made a fan for life!

I’ve just come back from a lunch hour excursion to this great little charity shop, and BOY was it worth it?!

Drury Lane might not have the same pull as the other streets in Covent Garden – but it is well worth the detour. The shop is surrounded by all the theatres, and seems to get a lot of their donated clothes from that end of the market. I’ve just picked up a lovely little Prada jacket for only £50 and a fetching pair of Sole sandals (you can tell I’m wanting Summer soon!) for a tenner.

But – it is a charity shop. So don’t be too surprised if you spot a hamster cage right next to the accessory section. I was. Okay, so it was brand new, and still in it’s wrapping, but you still don’t see that in your local Topshop do you?

As I sit down here at my desk, pretending to be crunching last months figures, I actually realise what I loved most about this Drury Lane Oxfam shop. The volunteers were the most friendliest staff out of any West End store (where they’re actually PAID to be friendly!).

From the moment I walked in, they let me browse myself silly, but for every enquiry I had, they were so nice and helpful. They even checked to see if any more shoes my size had been donated earlier in the day, but not yet priced.

My only regret was that I never bought the Pineapple top as soon as I saw it. Some other customer simply picked it up, posed with it in front of the mirror, and quickly paid for it, leaving me seething.

As it’s a charity shop, they don’t stock any more of the same thing. They price & put out whatever has been donated, so everything is a ‘one-off’. Get it immediately people, don’t ‘think about it’ like me!

Anyhow, if you’re stuck for somewhere new to shop tomorrow lunch-time, try out this store, you’ll become as hooked as me.

This has got to be the best charity shop in the world! The staff, none of whom are paid, are the friendliest, helpfullest and most diverse people in any retailer.

A while ago, I was after some retro 70's look for a hen do, and the staff really went out of their way to find my complete outfit! Needless to say, I was the best dressed hen of the group (sorry Geeta, but it's true!)

If anyone is after an incrdible range of accessories, then this charity shop is THE place to go. The best thing about accessories, is that there is more of a chance of finding your size (besides handbags and scarves), so I bagged some beautiful shoes, a propper Ascot-type hat, and some sexy belts as well. One pair of shoes set me back £29.99, but they were so worth it. The rest were very reasonable.

Since the hen do, I now love popping down to the shop in my lunch hour, cos they seem to have brand new stuff every day. Amazing, a couple of months ago, I would never dare buy from a charity shop. One hen do panic buy, and I'm a confirmed Charity Shop Chic!
