Madina Pound Plus

I bought a toilet cleaner brush on 04/01/2023 for my mother and she told me it broke two days later when she held it to use it.
I don’t live in the same area as my mother, so when I did get to her house on 12/01/2023 and retrieved the brush, I took it back to Madina Pound Plus E8 2NS on the same day and spoke to a man who served at the till.
He was very dismissive and said there is nothing he could do as there is no guarantee when you buy something.
I was very taken aback and asked for a refund or replacement but he was adamant the answer was no.
I told him I will be taking this matter further.
