Had been going there on and off since before they changed hands. Now profoundly unhappy. Last time I asked for Topy half-soles to be glued on, they came back with rubber half-soles stitched on. When those soles wore out, I went back for exactly the same job again. They came back with the uppers polished smooth as glass, on a previously oiled SUEDE finish – six hours to scrape clean. And they were almost a size smaller, as they’d been sewn on too close to the edge of the sole. (another cobbler explained this to me). And they didn't take my complaints seriously, at all. Not recommended.

been using mayfair cobblers for about eighteen months now and I must say the owner of the shop is one of the most charming people I've ever met as for any dry cleaning/pressing/alterations Not forgetting my shoe repairs I've had done there the work has always been first class would recommend to anyone

Excellent service, my partner's long soles and heels were perfect, the finishing was brilliant. Highly recommended to all as the staff are very courteous and the customer service was efficient.

Mayfair Cobblers & Drycleaners have dry cleaned all my garments for many years and all my dry cleaning has been returned well cleaned, fresh and pressed nicely.

Recommend others to visit Mayfair Cobblers as no job is too small and they have a solution to any shoe/hand bag repairs.

I have been using this place for over ten years. When Barry and Nina(the original owners) ran the place along with joe(the original recommended cobbler, this place was an absolute gem.

Subsequently this place has gone completely downhill in every aspect. Clothes no longer come back feeling fresh, but rather as if the harsh perc chemicals have left the fabric rough and reeking of chemicals. the service is rude, the quality is poor and price is too high.

take your things somewhere else, even if £1 or £2 more. you will actually end up saving money as your clothes will not be ruined!!

I've lived in Mayfair (Shepards Market) for many years, and have used Mayfair Cobblers for all my shoe repairs (heels, stitching and delicate shoe restoration work). I've been extremely pleased with the work, it takes the cobblers a little time to work on them, but the results are fantastic. I've taken my Jimmy Choo boots to be taken in at the calf and have the Cobbler measure and resize them for me with total confidence. My Christian Louboutin leather soles have been replaced with near perfect re-red restoration :)... by the way, they will work on mending and restoring handbags and provide dry cleaning services.. I cant say I am dissapointed..highly recommended..no wonder Vogue recommends them for all your shoe needs :)

I have been a long standing loyal customer of MayFair Cobblers and have found that the workmanship has gone down hill while the prices of shoe repairs has gone up. Also the quality of the leather shoes is not as good as it was before. I have found to my dislike that the lady owner is indeed rude and bad mannered towards the customers. She is lacking the customer service skills and does not make you feel welcome when you come in the shop. Some times she will be on the phone and customer will be left standing there while she talks on the phone. Stars nothing out of 10

I have encountered the rude lady at Mayfair Cobblers before but a friend of mine told me that she is not there anymore so I took my Jimmy Choo's and there is now a lovely lady called Tara who has great customer service skills. Always very polite, helpful & courteous. My shoes were ready when Tara said they would be. I felt safe leaving my shoes with Tara. I was very happy and will take my shoes again to Tara.

Dreadful. I have been using Mayfair cobblers for some time for both shoe repairs and tailoring alterations and have always been extremely pleased with the service. However on my wedding anniversary i took a pair of suit trousers to be taken up and delivered back the same day as i needed them for the evening. I came back at 5pm (the agreed collection time) only for thouroughly unhelpful young man who could barely speak english to shrug and announce that the alteration had not been done as the tailor had gone home sick AT 11am. When asked why no one had informed me earlier in the day (on the mobile number they had requested) in order that i could have made other arrangements i was told it was just bad luck. I insisted that the trousers be left there and at the very least done free of charge. I was then called later in the day by a lady who told me she was the manager and would not be doing the alteration for free as she had no control over the sickness of her staff or the fact i hadn't been called. When told i had spent over £400 in the shop over the last few years she simply replied that it was not her problem and i was welcome to take my business elsewhere. When questioned on her dispicable attitude to customer service she simply replied saying that she was 5 months pregnant and "didn't need this". I asked to speak to Barry (the old owner) and was told he has not been part of the business for over 6 months. Clearly the new owners don't have the impeccable levels of service that Barry and his team used to that saw Mayfair Cobblers adorn the pages of many a society/fashion magazine. I will not be visiting again and strongly advise that if you want your goods on time you don't either.
