City Dry Cleaners has just ruined my new expensive black wool shift dress - worn only once to a dinner party last week - it now has holes down the front where it was stained.
He then denied all responsibity, accused me variously of having moths, battery acid - yeah right, always dine on that! - and of going home to cut it up myself - in the 10 minutes between my picking it up and rushing back to the shop! - to claim a 'free' new dress from him. Refused to give me his name or details of how to institute a claim. Just denies all liability, so have to go to small claims court now.
Such a pity, previously thought he was good and very nice man. Am of totally the opposite opinion now, especially seeing it has left me, the customer, totally out of pocket and out on a limb trying to get some sort of compensation.
Dry cleaners ought to be better regulated so this sort of thing - accidents can happen - at least get sorted to the satisfaction of both customer and shop keeper.
