I received almost identical response to the reviewer below - Jessica. My coat was ruined - the sleeve had been scorched and returned with a huge iron print going up the sleeve. Clearly they had used a string solution the iron was too hot. Initially they said it was like that when they received it. My husband reminded Peter that he personally hung it up when the sleeve was still damp from the wine. The tipping point was when he could see I was very upset by their blatant denial of responsibility and said -“ it’s just a coat, it’s not your life”. Quite unbelievable since I was a long term customer of 10 years or more. I was very surprised he treated like that - if it was an accident then you apologise and try and resolve it - not start accusing the client of damaging their own property. I had expected more than a refund for the cleaning fee - they genuinely took no responsibility of had any remorse for ruining my lovely coat.

These dry cleaners have an outlet in Harrods where I left a dress to be cleaned. They burnt a huge hole in this dress and refused to accept responsibility. Straight away I told them that the damage wasn't there when I handed it over the previous week. Their staff also checked the dress, along with the care label, at which point we both would have noticed if there had been a large burn hole. The reason we didn't is because there wasn't one. As soon as I contested the damage, the staff reacted incredibly rudely and aggressively, shouting over me, so I requested to speak to their manager. They said I would have to speak to the owner to come to a resolution and took my details, telling me he would be in touch by by lunch. I had to chase three times and in the end retrieved their contact details from a senior manager at Harrods. They refused to accept responsibility for the damage and all in all their attitude in dealing with my complaint has been absolutely deplorable.

In the 10 years I have used them I have always found Lewis and Wayne excellent. They are pricy but well worth every penny.
