The story of Animal Ark began in 2002, when Animal Ark opened in Goodmayes. Of course, at the time, we didn’t know that we were starting the beginnings of such a wonderful community………

At Animal Ark we quickly became known for our quality veterinary care. As a result, the Animal Ark community has continuously grown, as people whom we have had the pleasure to serve, invite other animal lovers to join in.

We recognise that pets are ‘family members’, ‘beings in their own right’, ‘little furry people’. With this in mind, we set about attracting like minded professionals to join our team.

There are five ingredients that go into creating our quality veterinary care, knowledge : experience : up to date facilities : listening to and involving owners : ….. and a big splash of passion.

With years of experience, we believe it is passion that makes the difference between good care and great care………

I would NOT recommend anyway take their cat to this clinic if they cared about their pet. My cat's leg got shattered in 2 places by a fox, and Animal Ark told us we needed to have it amputated. As my cat was not insured, I had to pay close to £1k for this.

The money wouldn't have been an issue if the service was done properly and my cat recovering from her ordeal. We were given no information about aftercare apart from 'keep her confined to one room', and were not given an exact date to come in for a follow up. We were optimistic that she was doing fine as the stitches looked good, but just 5 days later there is pus leaking from her stitches and, as it was Good Friday, we had to take her to a different vet clinic to be checked. There were informed that there was dead space under her stitches that were being filled with liquid. As Animal Ark failed to give us any antibiotics for my cat, this had gotten infected, and the other veterinary clinic was hesitant to operate as the weren't the ones that had amputated the leg and there could have been complications due to their lack of knowledge of the procedure.

Animal Ark was meant to be open on Saturday, yet we couldn't get through to them. We have now had to wait a whole 4 days (Friday through Monday) after the pus first appeared to be able to get her seen, I am writing this at 4am Tuesday while keeping an eye on her until the clinic opens.

Her stitches have completely come undone at rhe bottom, half of her leg? muscle? is hanging out. We are just having to keep her on pain medication and soothe her until we can get her in to be treated. This is the WORST service I have ever received and the stress of seeing my cat in more pain, pain she should NOT have had to deal with after a fox attack, is ridiculous. I am livid.

When I first registered my young, female Jack Russell with them, about 3 years ago, they got her birth date wrong. I have no idea how they came up with the date they had, It was months out.
When she had a small op. there and had to stay in for a couple of nights about eighteen months ago, she's been very wary about me being in the room when I put food down for her. She was never like this before.
And, recently, having paid over £300 for allergy tests for her, I waited, what I first thought was 7 weeks, but it was closer to 5 weeks on checking later, without hearing anything from them. Just constantly told to hold on if it wasn't an emergency, on the phone.
I emailed them on their website, telling them I wanted a refund, as I hadn't heard anything from them and was very unhappy with their service.
It is now 9 weeks this Saturday (11/9/21), since my dog had her blood tests, and I still haven't heard anything from them. Not an acknowledgement or an apology. I will be sending them a written letter soon threatening them with legal action. My dog is suffering with very itchy skin - and they don't care.
And they overcharge for items that you can buy online. It was through their recommendation that I bought from them 3 months supply of Nexgard chewable worm and flea tablets. They charged me £50 for them. Not only did they not work for my dog, I discovered that you can buy them for less than half that price online. They are only in it for the money. And I agree with an earlier reviewer, they are all very young vets and nurses. There seems to not be any older, more experienced vets in this practice.

One of the most stressful experiences I've ever endured.

I was a long time customer of this vet until recently, and have had only good experiences prior to this.

This was until I took a stray cat in for neutering, they refused to accept the cats protection cover for neutering, refused to accept the RSPCA cover for treatment, so I said I would be willing to pay for his treatment myself.

They then misread that the stray had a microchip, threatened me with a 2 week hospitalisation bill whilst they attempted to find the owners through the microchip company - even though cat was not chipped in the first place, and would not allow me to collect the animal.

I had to request the help of Cat's Protection to collect the animal and they could not have been more helpful, I didn't go to them initially for help as they are overwhelmed due to the current pandemic but once they heard of the threat of the 2 week bill, they pulled out all the stops to assist.

The practice seems to have grown in size and I wonder if they have sacrificed the warm care they were known for, in exchange for a more lucrative business.

I would not recommend or return, particularly as their vets feel it is acceptable to lie to their clients.

I really must write to say how impressed I was with my initial meeting with your practice. I have obviously forgotten what good service is.

Your nurse and your vet were absolutely perfect; they spoke to me as a human being, spoke at a sensible level, didn’t speak down to me and spoke to me with respect. The consummate ease with which your nurse and your vet did this, means to me that it’s perfectly normal for them but I can tell you it’s not normal for me in many of my previous experiences with professionals.

I thank you very much indeed.

Very Kind Regards

My rabbit was neutered yesterday my first visit. I was impressed by the service having been concerned as th where to take my rabbit. Staff were extremely helpful with aftercare advice. I have many pets and have used many vets and no insurance. As long as competitive cost I would use again.

My four year old cat had a stroke on new years eve at 11:50, and after calling Animal Ark at midnight, within twenty minutes there was a nurse willing to see to chips. They were absolutely wonderful and unfortunately when he passed the evening after, he had been in great care, free from pain, and had constant company - Thank you!

We had our new puppy checked here last night.Lovely young vet we saw was very informative, took time to answer our questions thorougly, gave us many useful tips and was friendly and approachable. The whole clinic staff are very nice. We live in NW London but I am prepared to make the trip to see these guys again. Fantastic Vet Clinic, highly recommended.

How I disagree with the other review! we discovered Animal-ark several years ago when we needed a vet for 1 of our lizards and could not find any vets who saw lizards.

We have always found this vets to be very friendly and they know their stuff.

They have treated most of our animals at 1 time or another (we have over 15 animals) and we have no complaints.

Their prices are also very good, we can not afford insurance for them all, and their prices for neuturing cats and dogs can not be beat!

If you have any doubts try this - phone them and get a quote for neuturing a cat or dog then get a quote from somewhere like goddards , case closed!
