Hakan Altay

I first visited Hakan Altay's salon in the Churchill Hotel in 1979 and for the next 20 years or so was in his salon almost weekly. Since then nobody has come up to his standard of hairdressing, as far as I am concerned.

Mr. Altay has always shown much courtesy, true professionalism, friendliness but, at the same time, respect towards his customers. I now live in Belgium, and when I first moved I still came over on Saturdays to get my hair attended to, as that was one of my main losses when I left England. However, when I do visit London nowadays, the first thing I think of is going to Hakan Altay for my hair. He is very creative, seems to know what style will suit a person, and I have always left his salon feeling completely refreshed and able to tackle anything. The pampering and excellent products used all add to the feeling of well-being. I was recently in London and as well as having my hair attended to, I was able to catch up on news of customers I used to encounter in the past who, likewise, have been going to the salon for very many years.

Mr. Altay really cares about his customers, will do anything to ensure they are satisfied, and anyone who goes there for a first time will find it hard not to return. I have great admiration for him as a person and, likewise, his artistic and hairdressing skills.

Hello, I can only agree with the previous posting. By fate, I entered the salon of Hakan. I had a really bad hair day and missed my bus on Park Lane. I turned around and saw Hakan's place. Without thinking I entered and spent a wonderful 1,5 hour with Hakan and his staff and came out like a 30 something woman instead of 42!!! I looked amazing!! I always try to keep fairly long hair, but Hakan immediately saw potential with a shoulder length cut. He transformed my looks. As I walked down Park Lane men were turning their heads. What more could you ask for when you are 42!!

I would have to say it was the best haircut I have had. Hakan himself had actually cut my hair. I had left it up to him to style it the way he thought appropriate and I was extremely pleased with the result. No doubt it is expensive but this was the first time that my haircut took almost 3 hours. You are pampered with a hot beverage, a hair massage and deep conditioning mask. For those of you, who want to shower yourselves with some luxury, I would recommend to go there. Although I didn't believe it before, highly skilled people and expensive salons really do make a difference in your hair cute and style. I absolutely loved it and thought it was worth it.
