I would highly recommend Diane James. I always have my hair cut at the salon whenever I get back home to London. I have been going there for over five years. Diane James, herself, is a highly accomplished stylist and has many years of professional experience in top London salons and as a highly successful hair and make up stylist for film, television and magazine editorial. I always enjoy my visits to the salon and alway come away happy with the results. Diane and her team are absolutely great, the salon is comfortable and they all always make you feel special, but most important of all my hair always looks great.

The competition must be nervous, as Diane James is a excellent experienced caring hairdresser who listens to the client and is willing to give advice/. She is an exceptional colourist who certainly knows what she is talking about and I have not visited a better cutter.
Do not listen to the negative comments, the saloon does not smell of fish!! The toilets are very clean and hair is swept up immediately
I have never been left waiting, Diane and her staff concentrate fully on the client not drifting off to have a chat or as in some saloons to eat.
I have visited many hair saloons in both the west and east end and have never felt more comfortable and in more capable hands.

I get the impression a competitor is posting the reviews. Some nasty comments and I find it interesting the grammar remains the same for each review. As Public Enemy said 'Don't believe the hype'.
I have been going to Diane for one year and I am very fussy about my hair in fact I even booked Diane to do my hair and make-up for my wedding. It is very relaxing, friendly and the best cut/colour around East London. Actors, musicians, stylists and everyday people get their hair cut at Diane's, does that not speak volumes? I give this salon a nine out of ten because the tea bag should have been left for longer in the cup, I love a strong tea!

Diane is a good hairdresser, but she decides how she wants too do your hair, not how the client wants it!So for this reason i cannot recommend her salon, and will only give her a low mark. IF you are nervous about your hair do not go too this salon because she is quite scissor happy.

Diane is fantastic , she takes time to listen to what you want and has plently of good advice , always a good haircut . Would not use anywhere else . Very friendly and pleasant enviroment.

I had my hair cut by marta ok,wanted more layers but she said leave them long.Pricing not expensive, although i felt it took quite a long while and she left conditioner in my hair. The salon is quite retro, but has a strong stench of fish which i found quite off putting.

I have been here twice. Once for colour and another for cut and both times i was really pleased. I wanted to sort my colour out after being a hair model. Diane was really knew what she was talking about and i really liked it. The cut was done by the other lady. I honestly think people should give her more of a chance i really loved my cut and she was really friendly. She was good with advice and i left happy.

Diane James was recommended to me because my friend thought i might like to visit a more mature older lady doing my hair. She was correct, i did enjoy the experience,but thought the other hairdresser very inappropriately dressed for a hair salon. She was constantly correcting a young apprentice there. The cut wasn't too pricey. The music was a bit loud,and i was not asked if i wanted a drink till half way through my haircut.

I was recently relocated to East London and I was recommended by a work colleague to try Diane James. Previously I always went to a highly regarded West End saloon, however I’m now converted! Diane really knows her stuff when it comes to hair colours and only uses the best quality hair products. Aside from that she’s very friendly and I will be returning in a months time. I’m not sure where the Vidal Sassoon customer below got her impressions from as I’m highly impressed. Unlike Vidal Sassoon, Diane appreciates her client custom and really goes that extra mile with her service, which is a far cry from West End saloons!!!

i went to diane james after being let down at vidal sassoon for an appoitment. My hair cut was not as good as vidal sassoon.so bit disappointed.

My husband and I always go to Diane's she is a fantastic stylist, very friendly with resonable prices. Great cut, fantastic colour and to top it of a great cup of tea!!!

I really enjoyed my visit, Diane is really friendly and haircut is fab! Had a complete re-stlye and Diane just knew exactly what to do.

My hairdresser was very nosey,asked me lots of personal questions. felt abit intimidated. Would not recommend for that reason.

My stylist Diane was good. but the haircut was spoilt by her watching the other lady cutting hair.and not focusing her time on my hair.The salon was quite dirty. Lots of hair on the floor,not swept up/Also the toilets did need some attention.

Hair cut okay.The hairdresser was not at all friendly.not sure if it was because she did not understand me. Gave her the benefit of the doubt. Did not want to assume that she was very rude.Good central area to get to though.

Oh how i wish i had kept my appointment at v---- s------. Was not impressed with the young lady who did my hair.Did not understand what she was trying to say to me about my hair. Never mind,back to the drawing board.

diane james hair and make up is a little gem of a shop in bethnal green e2. the staff are very professional and attentive. the hair cuts are second to none, the blow dry was fantastic. and even better the price. a west end hair cut in the east end. the junior gave me such a great hair wash. the vibe was good they had good music and magazines all the little things to make your visit special.dont walk pass the salon because you will be missing out on a little gem.
