I have been regular customer at Alans'for the past couple of years and found the service exemplary.

I went there Saturday, and instructed the barber to only take a little bit off, but to my horror he scalped me, and gave no apology when he saw I was distraught, but I had no choice but to stop him midway and walked out.

I will never go back, as that one person has spoiled a great barbers

Went to Alan's to get a haircut been there before and received great service and great haircut decided to go back again.... Worst decision ever! When asked what I would like I said a TRIM on the top and while I was getting the haircut I was on my phone(my own fault) when he had finished which took him all pf ten minutes as he was obviously in a rush the barber had nearly "trimmed" my hair to pretty much a three blade it was that short I asked him why is it so short and his reply was you asked for a trim in a extremely rude manner! Horrible horrible haircut worst one I have received in 5 ye

Nice and clean place. They take care of you and listen before cutting which is sometimes not done, I always go there regularly.

This is the perfect barber shop. Friendly, efficient, and reasonably priced. For folks like me who don't know what to ask for beyond 'Erm... Make it shorter please' you couldn't find a better place. Highly recommended.

Doesn't look much from the outside but I just cannot fault the place. For a start it's very new so everything is clean and modern from the nice comfy leather seats to the large plasma tv above the barbers chairs playing the music channels at just the right volume. The staff are friendly and welcoming and take pride in their work - you really feel like they're doing a detailed job rather than just chopping away and getting you out of the shop as quickly as possible. Being a couple of hundred yards from the tube/train station means it's never that busy - a shame for them but it's meant I've never had to wait more than a few minutes on the 3 times I've gone. It's very fairly priced too with a gent's haircut being only £12.
All in all, why would you go anywhere else?
