Bensons For Beds

We bought Benson for Beds 900 series £2300 Sleep-2-live mattress. The 900 series is marketed as their most expensive premium line mattress offering two different tensions to suit each other’s respective requirements.

The tensions are determined using diagnostic software. My husband and I were diagnosed as soft and medium and purchased the customised mattress to suit. After sleeping on the mattress for two nights we realised there was a serious fault with the mattress. On each side the mattress was severely sagging under our weight. Each morning we had acute pain and stiffness in our lower backs.

After sleeping on our new mattress for 1 week we spoke to Bensons Beds High St Kensington branch who told us that they could not help and that the issue had to be referred to Sleep-2-lives customer service line. Half an hour on hold and we finally got through to be told there was an option to exchange the mattress after before the 40 day period. At this point we expressed concern that we may encounter the same problem with a different tension (ie firm option) and asked whether they could provide a guarantee that our backs would be properly supported. We were advised that there was nothing further they could do. We then spoke to Bensons for Beds to see whether there was an option to exchange for a completely different manufacturer and were told this was not an option.

My advice is, please, do your research and make sure to go with a reputable company. Bensons Beds Sleep-2-live product does not give you the correct support for your back. The diagnostic software that they use does not work. The customer service is appalling. The 10 year warrantee is not worth the paper it is written on as it only covers fault with the mattress construction and does not offer any guarantee the mattress will provide correct the lower lumbar support. We have purchased an expensive mattress which we are unable to use. Please don’t make the same mistake.
