This is by far and away the best bike shop in London for both sales and repairs! As a London cyclist of 25 years - I would choose this over the large cycle chain shops every time!

I use this bike shop regularly and have found it very helpful and efficient, the prices may be a little bit more than internet sites but I think it is worth it for the amount of service provided. The staff are always friendly and it is an authentic good old fashioned bike shop.
If only to experience what a real bike shop is, try it out!

For repairs, avoid. They are unreliable, expensive, and in my experience bikes come back with more problems than they started out with. Other local shops offer better service at a better price - and get your bike back to you when they say they will.
Nice staff though.

i am a regular cyclist in london and use bike shops a lot. i went into chamberlains today to ask for a bolt to fix my pannier rack, and the lady took my bike and bought it back with the bolt fixed in place and promptly charged me 3 quid. now i know shops have to make money, but for things like that i assume it is just simply good service to a) tell someone first if you're going to charge them for something and b) possibly not even charge at all - or at least only charge a nominal amount (say 50p) - for such a small item. anyway... i place a high value on reasonable and friendly service, and i think this shop failed. to me it indicates a fundamental problem of grabbing every penny youcan, and i for one wouldn't put a bike in to be serviced, nor buy anything of substance, from such a place. lady was even quite rude when i raised a polite objection saying 'well you couldn't have got it from a hairdresser could you?'. well... she's right, but in the future i won't be getting anything from them either!

Mainly have always used these guys. have had a brief daliance with other local stores (one independant two chains) and although Chamberlains is slightly more expensive but the level of service is much better through experience. Probably karma for toying with other bike mistresses.
Regularly service my bike there and they always do a good job and check with you even for minor repairs.
Have never felt like they just want you in and out of the shop and they have always been very helpful and accomodating.
