Bob Dove's shop has been in business on Northcote road since 1889 and specialises in free range, quality meat. Bob prides himself on knowing all his farmers and those involved in supplying his meat. Chef Jo Hopwood, his partner makes an excellent selection of high quality foods including pies, soups and stews, all hand prepared and deep frozen onsite, using the finest produce and free from any preservatives and colouring. Jo prepares made to order Wellingtons, Duck confit and casseroles for specials occasions and Doves will deliver to your door.

Have to disagree with previous comment. Doves is one of the best value for money butchers in London. I've used Lidgates, Moens and Chadwicks who are all far more expensive (especially Moens) for the meat of similar quality.

Hideously overpriced for average quality of meat, and incredibly unfriendly, rude and unhelpful staff (on the 2 occasions we have been). Fortunately there are much better butchers in the local area.

The prices we charge are similar, and in some cases, lower than many other proper Butchers so I don't accept the comment about being over priced. As for incredibly rude I have no idea who this person is so I can't comment.
I rarely serve in the shop and my staff are always friendly and helpful so perhaps it was just a bad day all round.
We have also been in business for 126 year so a decent effort for a shop that is as bad as the reviewer says it is.
Can't win em all !!
