All In London Review
A proper caff in Camden
Fast forward to the present day and we’re wandering through Camden, where a breakfast sandwich from Sainsbury’s seems more likely than a full English from an independent caff.
That is until we find Café Grill, where you can get large mugs of sugary tea and fry-ups with all the trimmings: ours has thick cut smoked bacon, an egg with a runny yolk, beans, black pudding, sausages, toast and a fried slice. Cypriot ownership means there is a Mediterranean breakfast too, that adds grilled halloumi and loundza, which is cured pork loin, similar to bacon. Turkish coffee is available too.
Elsewhere on the menu there are omelettes, saccharine desserts and all other greasy spoon staples, all at low prices - we’ve doubled the ingredients of the full English and it’s still only around £7. That’s the great thing about caffs, they fill you up cheaply, as our total bill (two huge breakfasts, two coffees and a diet coke) comes to just £14.
