Maryam's Kitchen

Friends ordered a truly spectacular feast from Maryam's Kitchen to celebrate my birthday, and what arrived truly was culinary art at its very best -- a feast for the eyes, nose and taste buds!! Six different starters, each somehow more beautifully presented and delicious than the previous. Jewelled rice, smothered in a gorgeous and sensationally delicious mix of tiny tart red berries, pistachio slivers, sweet carrot slivers and saffron infused rice. (And a separate "tahchin" version of this rice which was fabulous!) Succulent golden chicken accompanied by rolled sliced aubergine stuffed with a mouth-watering, slightly tart filling that perfectly complemented the other dishes. Then, when we thought we couldn't possibly eat another bite, we opened 2 totally irresistible cakes! Chocolate almond cake has always been my favourite, and this one fully lived up to my expectations. But the final cake topped it all: the most gorgeous, scrumptious and extraordinary culinary confection I’ve ever experienced!! Think saffron, butter, and crunch with a slightly sweet cream filling…. I don't know what Maryam's kitchen calls it but I think of it as Heaven on a Platter!
