The 30s-style cafe appears in a scene from Layer Cake, it also seems to have been moved to Brighton for the movie Brighton Rock.

Regulary have breakfast here. I believe that this cafe provides the best breakfast in Westminster; and apparently from the queues on Fridays.......so do others! Highly recommended.

Best breakfast in London. I lived nearby from 1999 - 2007 and had breakfast there as often as possible. Great location near Vincent Square, quiet street, authentic food, honest prices, and unpretentious.

I hope it outlives gentrification of the area.

What a fantastic place and the breakfast was great too! We were staying in the hotel across Vincent Square, ok, but could not bring myself to pay the £18 for breakfast!

We were at a formal dinner at the Grovesnor House the night before and a full english was definately needed. Some colleagues mentioed the Regency Cafe and gave us the directions, they siad it would be busy and a 9:30 it was.

Great atmosphere, great effect with the original decor and full of history, probably the best english breakfast I have had for a long time. At £5.50 for the whole effect, tea and toast included.
If you are in the Westminster or Victoria area and in need of a great breakfast check the Regency out.

I first visited the regency back in April. The service from the lady was impeccable, her voice echoed around the cafe ordering you to return to collect your food. Most recently I visited on a Saturday where a guy was calling the orders, rude and unhelpful are a couple of words I could use to describe him. Because the coffee that I ordered was slow to come through he said to go sit down to save cluttering up the end of the counter waiting ! our order was made wrong, we never received our drinks and we wasn't the only ones that this happened to but made you feel as though it was your fault. If you do intend to visit make it on a weekday and if the guy is serving turn around and walk out as there are many cafes in the city that service you better!

Went to pick up my passport on Saturday so thought I would stroll down to the Regency for lunch time cuppa and some nosh. Walked in at 12:10 Pm to be told "we close at midday"

What sort of cafe closes at lunchtime? You couldn't make it up!

This is a fantastic cafe- it closes early on Saturday becuase of the business area it is in which is predmoninantly an office based part of London. You'll also find a lot of the other cafes and restaurants in the area close early on Saturdays and Sundays in the area - those that stay open do only minimal business with the 1 or 2 customers who inadvertently end up south of victoria street. Even St James' Park Station - which is absolutely heaving 5 days of the week - practically shuts down at the weekend. Nothing made up here, you've just not thought enough about the demographics or business need. Defeinitely not a reason to give it a bad review - you haven't even eaten there - it's a great cafe - full of amazing staff and great patrons.

Fantastic 'greasy spoon' cafe, very slick, very clean, have only been for breakfast but will try the lunches when I get a chance. I now arrange my pre-work business meetings here, proper English Breakfast either set or design your own and also Eggs Benedict which was delicious.
