I have bern coming to Drummond St since 1976 qhen it was a simple shop with things being made fresh downstairs where the chef or Mr Khan would be sitting at the gas stove with a big oil cauldron for frying. Everything tasted unique and the burfee were historic with each tasting as it should whether pistachio almond or plain cardamom flavoured.

Sadly popularity expansion and mass production have impacted your quality and its slipping now more than ever. . I bought some Balooshahi your old classic..it was raw inside (have taken pics for the record). Your burfees are pastey with flour mix instead of milk powder. You no.longer use real ghee though available which is the classical original ingredient and oil or veg ghee will not give you the Ambala taste.
Your moti choor ladoo where bright orange rather than golden yellow orbs with delicate grains but fat balls. Your jalebis this Monday were enough to make a mitaey buff faint..they were like a mad squirter had gone wild at the fryer and had abstract patterns in mind! It looked ghastly .
So in 4 decades you have gained polish and presentation but cutting corners and costs you are ruining your unique selling point you mitaey/sweets! And Baklava is an a Midfle Eastern sweet not from the subcontinent. Edgware Rd as well as Lebanese shops sell the best so why is Ambala bothering to sell these insread of being focused on what it did best..mitaey/sweetmeats??

Best quality sweet centre. When in London, I always pay a visit. Shame Glasgow branch was closed down. Don't get anywhere near the same taste and quality from other sweet centres in Glasgow.

We ordered few items from their online store for the first time. Ordered wednesday night and received on friday afternoon.
Order included Kaju Katri and Namak Para among others. Must admit, never had such delicious Namak Para back in India too. Kaju Katri is equally good. Final verdict, Go For it!!

I have been buying sweets there for over 20 years, when my son was little. Now he is a man and still loves the sweets. It's seems that nobody else sells the same sweets. I love that place! Shame I don't go to the area very often.
