Having read this review, I decided to go and see what all the hype was about after a loud night on Brick Lane. It turns out, the Peera was absolutely delightful! It was soft, sweet and fresher than I imagined it would be. I also went on to try a few other traditional house specialities; the milky chom-chom, the fudgey pistachio barfee and the deeply more-ish gulabjam with whipped cream! Mmmmm. Staying on track, the sweets were first class and so was the service. Keep up the good work folks.

Just got back from a weekend on London. Made my usual trips to Brick Lane for curries and afterwards picked up Indian sweets. Have tried a couple of shops previously and this time decided to become a Peera expert. Tried 5 different shops and Raj Mahal was my last stop. Don't know why I have not noticed it before, but this time I noticed it was full of locals eating their sweets. Picked up some Peeras, which are much larger than most and a good price. The assistant was very polite and friendly, not worried about the fact that we spent ages deciding what to buy. My big regret is that I did not try the Peeras until we came home. They were by far the best that I bought, lovely and soft and full of flavour, just concerned about the amount of calories because they are so big and I could not eat just half of one. Next time I know exactly where I am going!!!!!!!
